Loon’s wedding followed by Wei’s wedding

After the previous week’s Seremban/PJ, we drove up again (with Yan, PQ and Siu Hei) to PJ on Friday, 3 June for Loon and Daren’s marriage registration. We started off at about 4:45am and reached PJ homeat 8:15am, well on time for the registration at 11:30am.

That night, we went shopping and saw very large Angry Birds:

The next day, the extended family had lunch together at Jaya 1.

At 2:30pm, we drove over to Pontian but was stuck in a long jam before Ayer Keroh as the toll station was down:

We arrived just on time at Pontian (7:30pm) for Grace’s cousin Wei’s wedding dinner at a school hall (classic Malaysian style).

We reached home just before midnight.

Weekend in Seremban/PJ

We drove to Seremban on 28 May (started at about 7:00am) for Grace’s Seremban Convent reunion at Allson Klana Resort.

There we met up with Chee Kean and Ming Meng and had some fun in playgrounds, the lake graden and A&W.

We then drove to PJ and spent the night with YowCh’s family. Esther and David then stayed on for a week-long holiday while YowCH, Grace adn Joseph returned to Singapore on Sunday.

TYLin farm trip

We spent this Saturday morning and afternoon at the Lim Chu Kang area farms where we toured several farms. This trip was organised by YowCH under the TYLin staff club.

Dinner for YowCH’s BD and Mothers’ Day

Today, we ate dinner at Cafe Amigos, Funan Centre, with Grace’s parents and sister, as celebration for YowCH’s birthday and Mothers’ Day. We discovered that Joseph loves garlic-butter baked escargots (French snails) and foie gras (liver of fattened duck/goose).

Yesterday, we had dinner with Yan, PQ and Siu Hei.

New auto-dim mirror and pole-lights for Isis

YowCH bought an auto-dim mirror from DJenesis (owner is Rudra) which reacts automatically to dim the mirror when hit by bright headlights from the rear.

The mirror is $120, with $30 service charge for installation.

The pole lights were upgraded mid of last year from normal bulb to LED, but being single SMD, it was not very bright. While getting the auto-dim mirror, the pole-lights were upgrade to the much brighter 5 SMD LED lights. In the following photo, the driver side light has been changed and is noticeably brighter than the passenger side. Normally, about $10 to $15 for a pair, Rudra did not charge for these two SMD-LEDs.

And so, the dimmer LED was transfered to the rear car-plate lights, now a blue glow.

Hiking at Macritchie with eFG children

We took the children, together with the efG children (those who can go) on a hiking trip at Macrtchie today. The weather was good and we had a really good time.

Esther’s new guitar

We bought a child-sized guitar for Esther, after trying it out in the shop (Suntec). She was able to play the six strings quite OK.

Now we have 4 string instruments in the house – 2 ukuleles and 2 guitars:

Car wash and polish

Well, with the Isis coming to two years old next week, we decided to give it a little wash and polish. As we spend 2 hours every Sunday in Funan Centre, we just gave it to the carpark polishing guy to do it (rather expensive at $150 for wash, polish and wax).

David turned 7

On 23 March, one day before David’s birthday, we had dinner at Live@Teppan, West Coast Plaza to celebrate David’s birthday. Gene, mum and dad were there, too.

This is the look of a boy the day before his seventh birthday:

And the Saturday before, we had dinner with Yan, PQ and Siu Hei at Rubato, Italian Restaurant, near Marymount.
