Samuel sitting (supported)

Samuel is now able to sit for a long time, with some support from the seat. Grace got him the foam baby seat and he is OK to be in it.

Samuel’s first swim, swim lessons for children

Today we went for a swim, Samuel’s first swim!

The underwater dip!

It was very hot!

You can refer here for Joseph’s first swim.

Actually, we went to the pool to attend swimming lessons for Esther, David and Joseph, starting today on every Sunday from 11:30 to 12:30. We got to the pool earlier at 11:00 to play first.

Esther is able to swim breast-stroke, so she started on free-style. David picked up the last bits of breast-stroke and at the end of the lesson, he can swim already (having learnt the basics a few year ago). Joseph is just starting off, but doing well as he was obedient and serious about swimming.

Some other photos of Samuel:
This is YowCH playing the guitar, while carrying Samuel!

And this is Samuel, able to lift his head already.

Samuel is now able to smile and laugh.

IKEA Stuva Cabinets completed

We bought the last two sets of doors for the new cabinets in the boys’ room after work and the minions assembled the doors. Joseph helped mount the brackets to the cabinet frame using the power screw-driver.

Now the cabinets are finally completed.

Previous post is here.

Samuel’s first day at school

We thank God that the childcare centre has a place for Samuel. The queue was rather long when Samuel was born in Oct 2013 (about 20+ waiting) but due to those dropping out from the queue and some infants being promoted, Samuel joins Learning Vision on 10 Feb 2014.

This is his locker (highest level!) and his bed (nearest to the door).

Joseph was very helpful in carrying bags of stuff to the centre.

Esther’s cupboard tattoo, beef noodles, new soccer jersey

This is Joseph taking care of Samuel on Saturday (Grace worked morning half-day, and Esther and David were in Chinese class).

And Esther had her cupboard doors applied with tattoos (bought in Malaysia over CNY), before and after:

Details:

We had Hock Lam beef noodles with the Tans at ARC for dinner after Church.

On Sunday, the boys wore the new soccer jerseys for training at West Coast Park. Had a small shower just at the end of the session at 6:00pm but the lasted only 5 minutes. Singapore experience no significant rain for the past 1 month, the grass is now dried and yellow.

Details of the jerseys (brand: Errea):

Isis aircon repaired, bought replacement filters

The Isis aircon was really down. YowCH sent the car for assessment at Tomika (Alexandra Village, Bukit Merah) on 5 Feb and Mr Lee, the boss, checked that all the gas recently topped up is gone! Given that the cabin temperature is hot, it would be the evaporator (coils) leaking, which needs 5 hours to repair. Quoted $480 before GST.

Today, YowCH sent the car in at 9:00am and got it back at 12:30pm (3.5hours only).

The coils were replaced, here is the leaking coils taken out.

Tomika also changed to a new cabin filter, and topped-up the aircon gas and compressor oil. All for $430 before GST. Aircon is now as good as before. Tomika is quite known to be reasonable and honest, and they are official suppliers of OEM Denso parts.

While at Alexandra village, YowCH bought some replacement engine filters ($9.50 each) and aircon filters ($13.00 each).

CNY2014 and Kidzania

We went back to PJ for CNY from 30 Jan to 4 Feb. While in PJ, we also had fun at Kidzania.

Esther’s iPhone, Isis repair, family photos

We got Esther a second hand iPhone4 for $200. She is now responsible for her own phone and control of communications.

We also got a nice purple silicone cover, just as she likes.

YowCH checked the Isis as the aircon is not getting cold and found a hose that was just floating about! After checking with a friend’s Wish, he got it connected back again. Will see if the aircon improves.

Here are some family photos, the children at the “O”:

YowCH with Samuel:

YowCH’s trip to TYLin CQ

YowCH went to Chongqing from 20 to 22 Jan to attend the T.Y.Lin China Annual Dinner. The trip report is here.

Samuel updates, Esther’s electric guitar

Here are some photos of Samuel at 12 weeks old. He is still underweight but certainly fleshy and active.

Nice smile and developing bad habit of thumb sucking.

He is also into mixed-martial arts, starting with boxing-while-lying-down.

We got Esther a relatively cheap ($135) Aria STG Mini electric guitar (travel-size, but just the right size for her). Sound reasonably OK for the price. In the photo, the Aria is the smaller sun-burst coloured one standing next to the full-sized Ibanez that YowCH uses.

Some details:

And here’s the rocker girl.
