Isis front wheel re-cambering

The front-left tyre outer-edge has been wearing out heavily, probably due to the multi-storey carpark ramps and YowCH’s hard U-turns. After alignment check by Kenny Car alignment (at Ang Mo Kio), the front wheels were re-cambered to be more “A” rather than “H”.

Third party bolts were installed to allow the tuning of the camber.

The alignment results of the left here has been cambered, but the right has not.

The last photo shows the slightly angled front wheel.

The car has more stability now, especially at cornering and hopefully the wear on the front-left outer-edge reduces.

Monday night durians

We bought some durians from the neighbourhood stall, and Samuel had a great time eating. We bought 5 medium-sized durians for $20, and they are rather ripe, that’s why they are cheap.

This photo is taken by the non-durian-eater, David:

And when the children have eaten, YowCH and Grace had romantic eating-durian-on-the-floor.

We had dinner before this and we ate about 40% keeping the rest for some other day.

Weekend update – play, eat, run, swim.

For the long Hari Raya Aidil Fitri weekend, we started with some playground fun at Tiong Bahru Park (with the crooked train).

Followed by lunch at Vivocity Swenson’s.

We also got ourselves the Sg50 Cable Car Lego at Toys R Us.

Saturday was spent in J-cube and Big box (as YowCH had a meeting with JTC at The Summit), followed by Church and dinner with Grace’s parents, sister and 4th aunty at Thai Express, west Coast Plaza.

Sunday started with YowCH and Esther going for a run. YowCH did 4.0km and Esther did 2.5km. Here’s YowCh’s 4 runs in July 2015, starting again after the 10km RealRun in Sentosa back in May 2015.

Then we went for our swim. Samuel loves the water now, playing happily in the pool and underwater.

We can even touch fingers inside the water!

After the swim, Esther went for ballet while we went shopping at Raffles City. The boys had no soccer training this week for the Hari Raya holiday. Our dinner was Vietnamese food at Nam Nam, basement of Raffles City.

Happy birthday, Grace

It’s Grace’s birthday and we had dinner at Cedele, Great World City, with Grace’s parents and sister. Here’s a nice photo Gene took for us.

And the slice of birthday cake that Esther bought.

Joseph on Sunday Times

Sunday Times 12 July 2015, Sports section featured the Borussia Dortmund football clinic at People’s Association HQ held on 11 July 2015. The photo has Joseph right in the middle!

The online Sunday Times here.

This morning, Esther ran 2.7km, with YowCH who ran 3.5km. Just a little exercise.

Soccer clinic with Borussia Dortmund at PA HQ

David and Joseph joined a group of 25 from West Coast CSC in attending the football clinic at PA HQ today, conducted by German team Borussia Dortmund coaches under the sponsorship of Evonik. We started the session at 9.00am.

The children were given BVB training jersey, shorts and socks.

It was a fun event, but the training was real.

Above is Lars Ricken (retired BVB striker and Germany national player) signing David’s T-shirt. Samuel had lots of fun running about.

The bee is the mascot, Emma. Esther was very helpful in looking after Samuel and taking care of our stuff.

The Evonik manager gave medals and Lars gave certs to the children.

A Q&A session, and we ended at 11.15am.

Each player received lots of BVB freebies: jersey, shorts, socks, Puma training ball, water bottle, medal, cert and sunshades.

Thank God for the good weather.

Fat Boy burger dinner with Yongs

We had dinner with YowCH’s sister’s family at Upper Thomson Road Fat Boys.

We ordered 6 burgers, 2 plates of beer-batter onion rings, 10 chilli drumlets and 1 plate of truffle fries.

The food was great, and we ate up much of what we ordered.

We also realised that Samuel can hold a glass and drink water directly, all by himself!

9 days in Malaysia for family and church camp

We were back in PJ from 13 to 21 June for Church Camp (at Putrajaya) and family time. Click on the photos below for get to the page:

Soccer training, Esther Birthday dinner with family

Sunday afternoon, Joseph and David were at training again, and they played very hard in the hot sun!

Then, we had dinner at Cedele (GWC) with Gene and parents to celebrate Esther’s birthday.

Esther was busy taking photos of the food.

Here’s the birthday cake she got, a sea-salt caramel cheesecake.

And Samuel was also happily enjoying the dinner, eating mostly by himself.

Esther’s birthday, David’s Batam snacks, throne for the drums and TYLin hike at Sg Buloh

Today is Esther’s 13th birthday. We had a family dinner at Sakae Sushi after church.

David was at Batam last Monday and Tuesday with his school, to teach English to the Batam students. He bought some snacks: fried fish balls and Malay layer cake.

Our drum set is finally complete, Grace managed to get a 2nd hand throne for $30.

We spent the morning at Sungei Buloh Wetlands with YowCH’s colleagues. It was a nice hike. Click on the photos below to the page.
