Dinner at Crab in Da Bag

As celebration of Mothers’ Day, and YowCH’s birthday, Gene treated us to a nice and messy dinner at Crab in Da Bag, at Sportshub.

Just outside, here’s YowCH and Grace:

We were all ready with the bibs, right after ordering.

Some pasta, chicken wings and tiger prawns in salted egg cream:

It was messy but fun to eat on the table.

The main course, the Titanic Bucket of shellfish. There were crabs, prawns, slipper lobsters, crayfishes, yabbies, a lobster, mussels, clams, sausages, onions, potatoes and corn. All that cooked in Louisiana soup and spilled on the table.

Messy eating:

We finished everything!

And complimentary jelly on honey dew dessert for us (the restaurant owner is YowCH’s friend).

Soccer training, western dinner, YowCH’s birthday voucher

Some photos from last weekend.
David and Joseph are both in goalkeeper training, as they are both naturally skilled with the catching. Not as much running about, but lots of jumping, stretching and flipping about.

Samuel is always interested to join the older boys at soccer, he was enjoying himself running about.

During game, the big boys played well. They also played goalkeeper against some penalty kicks.

For dinner on Sunday, Grace did a western meal with potatoes and carrots, mussels in lemon broth (YowCH did this), fried oyster egg (also YowCH), mushroom seafood soup (from can), cucumbers and tomatoes, and grilled lamb and beef. We ate up all except 1/2 + 1/2 pieces of beef in 40 minutes!

On Monday, TYLin Staff club gave a $5 birthday voucher to YowCH, nice surprise.

Esther’s exams for this week ended, and she will be practicing for worship leading (guitar) for this weekend.

YowCH’s parents and sister visit, mum’s birthday

For the long weekend of Labour Day, YowCH’s parents and sister Loon and family came to Singapore. We took leve on Friday, 29 April and prepared dinner.
First, an afternoon snack of fried bananas:

After dinner chit-chat:

On Saturday, we bought chicken rice and cooked some food, plus we added durian sorbet:

Here’s using Yonanas to make durian sorbet, the prep work was done in advance before lunch to freeze.

And then we used the Yonanas machine to make the frozen cream.

YowCH’s sisters liked the machine, so we picked up the two units seen at Salvation army for them at $20 each (new about $100).

On Sunday, 1 May 2016, that’s YowCH’s mum’s birthday, we made yam cake. Preparing the yam and meat:

Frying up and mixing the flour:

Placing into bowls and steaming:

We celebrated mum’s 69th birthday at Yan’s place:

Followed by dinner at Yan’s Palace (restaurant in Chinatown):

And then we finished up the durians:

Swim, run, Joseph on ukulele

We had pool fun again:

YowCH still runs sporadically, this is run at West Coast:

YowCH and Samuel took a walk in the Jalan Rumah Tinggi Park to measure the length, we walked average speed of 3.3km/h on the 430m track.

Joseph started playing the ukulele properly, and now he can manage about 10-15 common chords, good enough to play songs like I’m Yours, As The Deer and When You Say Nothing At All.

Here are Esther and David chilling in the Sorrento pool after church.

And Samuel chilling at our flat level 1:

Samuel also had some time at the playground at Kim Tian while waiting to pick Esther from tuition.
