Odyssey at 1000km

In 2 full weeks, the Odyssey was driven 1000km. We sent it to Kah for servicing this morning. Everything was fine, changed to Shell Helix Ultra lub.

We also paid an extra $266 for 3M body paint sealant to keep the car glossy and smooth longer.

Odyssey interior

Nice interiors:

Second row has built-in shades and the boot is deep.

The tailgate can open fully at a rather reasonable short distance.

Odyssey stuff, car-cam

The spare tyre is stored under the front seats, hard to take out, but it is a full-sized space-saver donut.

The sun-roof is fun to have.

Here’s a view of the engine and the large boot.

And here’s Grace driving the Odyssey the first time.

We paid $600 for Kah to install the front and back car cam (BlackVue) and it looks great. FullHD front, and 720 rear. Even has GPS.

Odyssey collected, David PSLE Orals

Kah Motor registered the Odyssey on Wednesday and managed to issue the car to us on the morning of 18 Aug 2016. We met the agent to go through the car at 10:15am and drove off at 11:45am.

Here’s one last look at the Isis (we bought in 2009) that served us very well for the past 7 years and 4 months:

The Isis was driven 161641km in total.

At collection, here are the two cars with the same plate:

The Isis now bears SLF1912M.

Here’s the new car (more info on the Odyssey page):

Some internal views, with Grace, Joseph and Samuel (Esther was in school, David was taking his PSLE English Oral, and Joseph had PSLE leave).

And here’s a look at the panel at night.

Thank God for the new car, nicely comfortable for passengers and driver, but not as aggressive driving due to the CVT and weight of the car.

David’s PSLE English Oral is on 18 Aug, and Chinese Oral on 19 Aug. Then it will be the final preparations for the PSLE written papers.

Isis sold, Odyssey to issue on 18 Aug

The secondhand car company (Mayfair) bought the Isis in full today, 9 Aug 2016, but we can still drive the car until 18 Aug when we pick up the new Odyssey. Official transfer of the Isis to Mayfair will be on 18 Aug 2016 when we take the Odyssey and surrender the Isis.

Visit our Odyssey page to see some ideas on some paintwork modifications.

Odyssey COE secured

COE for the new Odyssey is secured on 3 August 2016, first bid by Honda, at $57,903.00. New car in 2-3 weeks!

David’s art prize, new soccer uniform

David was awarded a prize for his artwork for SG51. The prize was presented by MP Indranee at 118A Jalan Membina on Sunday morning. We had breakfast courtesy of our Chinese tuition centre.

That afternoon, the boys collected the new soccer uniforms, which is blue. Unfortunately, the game against Jurong Green is cancelled due to lightning warning.

On Monday night, we had dinner at Alibabar, near our home at ARC, with Grace’s parents. Here’s Grace with Fucking Hell.

And here’s a resigned man:

The children got to taste the beer.

YowCH resigned from TYLin

After working in TYLin for more than 18 years (started 1 June 1998) YowCH resigned yesterday, Friday, 29 July 2016. Time to move out and venture into some other firm. He has already accepted an offer with significantly better renumeration and work environment.

There will be 3 months of transition, and we are praying for the transit to be smooth and problems-free.

Honda Odyssey confirmed

We confirmed the Honda Odyssey EXV-S 2.4 CVT Modern Steel Metallic (Grey) from Kah Motor today. $154k. It is the seven-seater model with 2 Ottoman (captain) chairs at the middle, all black leather. The children love it.

Below is a sample of the car, ours will be likely issued to us about end-Aug.

[Note: Above front-view picture replaced, earlier was the wrong model]

YowCH’s Galaxy S7, Samuel’s bean sprouts

Re-contracting at about 10 months since the HTC One M8, YowCH ordered a new phone on 18 July and it was delivered to by 19 July. The Samsung Galaxy S7 (non-edge) came with a free Samsung Gear VR for $288.00, where the street price is $785. The phone is glass on both front and back, and black in colour. YowCH bought a jelly case, also black, which fits well and looks great. This is the first non-HTC smart phone that YowCH is using since Nokia days. The QuadHD screen is nicely bright and has great contrast. Being waterproof, the camera can take underwater photos and videos up to 1m depth. It is about the same size as the HTC One M8.

The set unboxed:

And the Gear VR:

Samuel brought home his bean sprouts, and they are growing very well!
