11 Sept, Friday:
Paul is on leave today. After YowCH returned the rented car to Hertz, both families went to Geelong for lunch, then to Cape Otway for the Cape Otway Lighthouse. Paul and Alison were driving both the cars. YowCH was navigating and it was quite bad to have trusted the GPS route which led us into one Wild Dog Road which was about 8km of unpaved gravel road along the hill sides before reaching the lighthouse.

After Cape Otway, we drove on to Macka’s Farm outside Princetown where we will spend the next two nights. Dinner was pizza bought from Nico’s at Port Campbell.

12 Sept, Saturday:
We woke early in the morning for cow milking and animals feeding.

Then we went out to the Great Ocean Road for sight-seeing. Gibson Steps, The Twelve Apostles (previously Sow and Piglets), Port Campbell for lunch, The Arch, London Bridge, The Grotto and Loch Ard Gorge, before returning to Macka’s Farm.

Thank God, this is the largest road kill we had, but we saw several dead kangaroos and numerous smaller animals

We then had hamburgers for dinner, bought from Princetown, while the children had some fun on the carts.

13 Sept, Sunday:
YowCH woke early to pick up the fresh farm eggs for breakfast, and then see the milking and feeding again. After breakfast, we set off for Warrnambool but stopped at The Twelve Apostles again as the lighting was better than the cloudy previous day.

After a quick refill at Port Campbell, we reached Logans Beach at Warrnambool and enjoyed watching the 10 to 15 southern right whales dancing within 150m of the beach. It seems that early Sept is good season and only once every three years the whales come in large numbers.

After a long drive back to Melbourne, we did our final packing. The Ngs then brought us for dinner at DiCaprio Italian Restaurant just heading to the airport to fly back to Singapore.

Thank God for a wonderful holiday trip and good fellowship time with the Ngs.

  1. Beautiful pictures. Wonderful memories I hope.

  2. Paul, 2/3 of the memories are shared with your family.

Thanks for the great effort in hosting us and driving us around. Again, apologies for Wild Dog Road, stupid GPS routing.

  3. Lovely pictures. Memorable times for the family.
    Thank you, Lord.

  4. Paul’s eggs look … .crispy

  5. That’s what happens when you brought no oil, has no non-stick pan and has to rely on butter taken off the airline meal to fry the eggs.
