Day 5: 5 Dec 2019
This is the day of local flight from Jeju to Busan. Esther and Joseph went to a convenient store to buy some instant noodles for breakfast while we packed. Mr. Shin then picked us up at 10.15am after we checked out of the hotel.

We rached the airport at 10:25am and Grace did the self-check-in.

After checking in, we had lunch at Lotteria at 11:30am.

Again we had to take a short bus ride and walk up the plane.

The plane took off at 1:35pm (on time).

We landed in Busan at 2:30pm.

Here’s a map of our tour locations in Busan. Click to enlarge.

We took a limo taxi to the hotel at 2:55pm, reaching the hotel at 3:25pm.

We checked into Dino Hotel and the room was a large suite with 1 bath/toilet.

We unpacked and walked out to roam the streets at 4:05pm. Busan Train Station was just about 150m away!

We bought a jacket for David.

After some time walking and shopping in Busan Station, we walked to Choryang Market and bought some snacks.

We walked a bit more, including visiting a local supermarket for a short while before having dinner at a restaurant near our hotel.

After dinner we returned to the hotel at 7:00pm, where YowCH downloaded photos and did some work.

At about 8:30pm, Esther and David went down to get fried chicken.

This Kyochon brand is good!

We rested and spent some time playing before sleeping.

Day 6: 6 Dec 2019
We woke at 7:50am and had breakfast in the hotel.

At 9:00am, driver Brian picked us up for our Busan tour.

Some scenes of Busan streets.

We rached the cable car station at 9:35am and bought tickets for our ride to Songdo.

The scenery at this urban park and reserve is beautiful. We really enjoyed the autumn colours.

The temperature was cold, just a bit above 0°C. There was still ice and frost everywhere.

We had some warm snacks at the cable car station before descending back to be picked up by Brian at 11:10am.

Next stop, Samjin Fishcake Bakery, at 11:30am.

We bought some fish cake snacks and ate there.

Next we went for a short boat ride cruise along the Taejongdae coastline. We started at 12:30pm and ended at 1:30pm. We walked down a long flight of steps to get to the jetty.

While the scenery is nice, the wind from the sea was biting cold.

After the cold cruise, we went to Jagalchi Market for fresh seafood lunch at 2:10pm.

We bought fish and shellfish downstairs in the wet market, then went upstairs to get them cooked.

The food was great, but we learned from the cook’s staff that we could have bought the seafood upstairs at the restaurant and saved the cost of cooking! Lesson learned.

After lunch, we visited bought some seaweed. Then we left for Haedong Yunggongsa at 3:10pm. We reached the beautiful temple at 4:00pm. The entrance had the zodiac animals.

Not only the temple had beautiful architecture, the scenery around was great, too.

We left the temple at 4:50pm after getting some street snacks.

On the way back to the next tour location, we received news of YowCH’s dad’s passing, and we decided to head straight back to Dino Hotel and cancel the remainder of the tour. Grace booked our flight from Busan to KL to fly home ASAP, and thank God for availability of an AirAsia flight on 7 Dec at 10:30am.

We reached the hotel at 5:50pm. And started packing for the early return. At 6:40pm, we walked out for dinner.

We returned to the hotel at 7:55pm, after placing order for fried chicken. YowCH then prepared photos of his dad for use at the funeral. At 8:45pm, Esther and David went down to collect the fried chicken for our supper.

We ate and packed, and went to sleep early.

Day 7: 7 Dec 2019
We woke at 6:00am, and got ready to leave at 6:40am. We checked out and had breakfast in the hotel. Brian picked us up to send us to the airport at 7:35am.

We arrived at the airport at 8:10am, and joined a long queue for checking in and airport security.

After clearing all the immigration and customs, we sat down and waited, while we snacked on Dunkin Donuts.

At 10:35am, the AirAsia flight took off. Some last looks at Busan.

At 3:50pm, we landed at KLIA2.

Immigration was rather smooth and we cleared at 6:40pm. We went to Old Town for an afternoon snack before Chee Kean and Thean Seong picked us up at 5:10pm to send us to PJ home.

Continued to YowCH’s dad’s funeral.

We thank God for a good trip with nice family bonding time, relaxing, nice scenery, enjoyable food, and much learning. While YowCH’s dad’s passing cut out trip short by 1.5 days, we still enjoyed much of the trip, especially in beautiful and scenic Jeju island. And we thank God for the ease of booking another flight to KL with available seat, and the refund of $1,100 our of $1,600 paid to JejuAir for the Busan to Singapore tickets.

This trip, we spent about $9,250.00 in total, including the flight to KL and the JejuAir refund. Air tickets about $4,100.00, hotels $700.00 and tour guides $1,700.00. We spent about $2,750 on tour tickets, food and shopping.
