190621 to 23 Church Juniors’ Camp
YowCH was in the Church Junior Camp committee and the camp was from Friday 21 to Sunday 23 June 2019. Joseph attended the camp. This year’s camp has only 12 participants, 8 boys and 4 girls.
On Friday night, YowCH spoke on the topic of Servant Leadership, teaching the children about leadership, types of leaders and what defines servant leaders.
There were discussions and games, too.
YowCH then went home.
The next morning, YowCH joined the camp early and had breakfast with the children.
Then there were activities and practice for Kidserve, where the children learned to do slides, play cajon, keyboard or lead worship. This year, Joseph was working on preparing slides.
We had pre-packed lunch.
Joseph helped clean up after lunch.
Then there were more games, like hiding toilet rolls.
Later, as Saturday service began, the campers helped guide the younger children in their respective worship service areas.
YowCH gave some pointers and guides to them to help them do better.
Dinner was very nice, prepared by church member Mun Cheong.
The campers then made their egg-delivery vehicle which runs on a tight wire. This is Joseph’s team:
The trial run.
This is the camp photo, before testing the egg-delivery vehicles.
Joseph’s banana-torpedo was the fastest in delivering the egg down!
After the activity, we watched a movie, the animated Ben Hur.
After the movie, the campers slept and YowCH got some work done before sleeping.
Sunday morning started with devotions, then breakfast.
Then they handled the first and second Sunday services for the children. During the in-between break, there was prize giving and Joseph’s team was the second.
Here Joseph is working with his friend on the slides.
The second service worship.
Here is an example of a slide that Joseph made. The colour scheme can certainly be improved, but the background was interesting.
Thank God for a good weekend of service to church, fun and fellowship.
