190615 to 17 Church Mid-lifers’ Camp at Batam

This year, our church has no Church Camp. Instead, we have camps based on the age-groups. Grace and YowCH signed up the the Mid-lifers’ Camp, and Joseph and Samuel tagged along. The camp is in Batam, from 15 Jun (Sat) to 17 Jun (Mon).
Here’s our luggage, with two bags and one guitar for the church worship.

We reached Harbourfront Terminal at about 8:15am and had Starbucks for breakfast. Then we joined the campers and waited for boarding.

We boaarded the ferry at 9:45am and the ferry took off on time at 10:00am.

We reached Sekupang, Batam at 10:00am, and took a transfer bus to Harris Resort. Upon arrival, we quickly set up the worship equipment.

Then we had lunch and some R&R time.

At 2:00pm, we gathered for worship and ice-breaker games. YowCH was the camp commandant and camp worship leader.

At 3:00pm, we checked into our room. Room 222 is a family suite.

View from our balcony.

Then we played in the pool.

Dinner at 6:00pm, and we had worship and the camp talk at 7:30pm.

After the evening service, we returned to the room and had instant noodles for supper. Preston joined us.

Sunday morning, we woke up and had breakfast at 8:30am.

Devotions, worship and session started at 9:00am.

After the sermon, yowCH took the camp photo:

We had lunch at 12:30pm then played some games.

After the games, we took an afternoon nap and then we played in the pool.

After dinner, we had our worship and then the children performed a song for Fathers’ Day, with cards that Joseph and Samuel made, too.

We returned to the room and had instant noodles party with Joseph’s friends.

We took a mirror group photo before we slept.

Monday, we woke to a rather heavy rain.

We packed for the return trip and had breakfast at 8:00am.

That’s the Harris Dino mascot.

Worship and service started at 9:00am.

After service, we R&R for a while before departing Harris at 2:00pm. We caught the 3:30pm ferry.

We reached home at 6:30pm and here are the goodies we got.

Here are the photos of the food we ate.

We thank God for the weekend of sermons, fellowship and R&R with church friends at the Mid-lifers’ Camp.

During this camp, Esther and David spend 3 days 2 nights at a prayer camp in church with the youths.
