181015 to 16 Sentosa Trip

With the PSLE marking days giving Joseph 4 days of leave, YowCH and Grace took leave to bring Joseph and Samuel to Sentosa for a 1-night stay from Monday, 15 to Tuesday, 16 Oct 2018.

Here’s our map highlighting areas we visited in this trip (click to view larger version):

Monday 15 Oct 2018
We first sent David to school, then we went for breakfast.

We reached Sentosa after breakfast at Seah Im hawker centre (opposite Harbourfront), and parked at Tanjong Beach. It was practically empty!

After a short while playing with sand, we walked to the island off Palawan Beach.

Next stop, the Palawan Pirate Ship water play area.

The boys had great fun!

Samuel was rather excited about taking a tram ride, so we took a ride on the Sentosa bus.

Next stop is the iFly for Joseph. We reached at 12:00 noon for his briefing, and then we walked about a bit with Samuel.

At 1:00pm, Joseph dressed up in the suit and went flying!

It was a very enjoyable time for him!

Samuel got to scoot around in his Y-glider.

We had fast food lunch, Marrybrown.

After lunch, we checked into Costa Sands Resort (cheapest in Sentosa) and enjoyed the small but deep pool (2.0m depth max).

We then took a nap, as YowCH was very unwell with flu.

At about 6:00pm, we walked to the beach for dinner.

We sat down at Ola for a nice beach dinner as we watched the sunset and enjoyed great music.

After dinner, we took the monorail to watch the Crane Dance at teh North of the island.

It was pretty, but only 8 minutes!

We then brought the boys to the entrance of the RW Casino.

Then it was a train ride to Imbiah to walk the Merlion Walk.

As we reached the end, the Wings of Time show was playing and we caught glimpses of it.

We then walked to Siloso beach and then took a tram back to the Resort.

And before we slept, we had cup noodles! Unfortunately, we had no utensils, so we had to use plastic coffee stirrers.

Tuesday 16 Oct 2018
We woke up at about 7:30am and went to the beach, again, it was empty.

The water was cool but not too cold. The boys had fun again.

After the beach, we returned to the room to shower and packed, then checked out at about 9:30am. We parked at Beach Station carpark and walked to the Luge, reaching just before the 10:00am opening time.

It was reaclly fun to luge down the slopes! Samuel rode 2 trips with YowCH and 2 with Grace.

After the Luge, we had lunch at Good Old Days, and the restaurant was empty!

Samuel really wanted a coconut for himself! That’s $6.00!

After lunch, we walked the Merlion Walk again, in daylight. As the rain clouds gathered in the sky, we visited the Merlion and then walked to Resorts World again and bought Hokkaido ice-cream.

We then took the train back to Beach Station and drove off to Vivocity for some shopping. After another 2 hours of shopping, we reached home at about 4:30pm. the boys were really exhausted after 2 days of fun.

We thank God for the fantastic good weather and the rather empty Sentosa during this off peak period. Also thank God that Esther and David can take care of themselves in our absence.
