180614 Y, J & S hiking at Macritchie
On Thursday, 14 June, YowCH took leave and took Joseph and Samuel on a hiking trip. Esther and David were in Church Camp (Johore) and Grace was at home sleeping (just finished night shift).
We woke at 7:30am and fried some left-over yam cake for breakfast. Then we drove to Macritchie Park, and parked at Venus Drive for the Treetop Walk.
We entered the park at 8:50am, and we thank God for very nice sunny weather.
Samuel saw a skink.
A typical trail scenery.
We reached the Ranger Station at 9:55am and rested a bit.
By 10:05am, we reached the Treetop Walk entrance.
This is Joseph’s second time on the suspension bridge, and Samuel’s first.
We crossed the bridge in 5 minutes (since there are not many people around).
We had some rests in between our walks, and snacked mostly on sweets to get instant energy.
By 12:10pm, we returned to the carpark. It started drizzling and we quickly grabbed a photo after a visit to the toilet at the recently completed Windsor Nature Park.
Here are some photos of wild fruits:
Skink and fish:
Insects:
Squirrel and monkey:
and fungi:
We thank God for a good trip where we bonded over 3+hours (about 8km) in the park and enjoyed a good hike in nice weather.
