171130 to 1204 Trip to PJ

e took a short holiday in PJ to visit YowCH’s parents and youngest sister, and also to see Jeanne (1-month-old daughter of Chee Kean and Ming Meng). Our trip was from 30 Nov (Thursday) to 3 Dec (Sunday). Since YowCH needed to attend a meeting in KL on 4 Dec, we stayed on for one more day, and returned to Singapore on Monday.

30 Nov 2017 (Thursday):
We left home at 4:20am on 30 Nov, and being an early morning on Thursday, the checkpoints were practically empty.

The drive home was smooth and comfortable, except for a minor skidding after Pagoh (due to a patch of gravel on the road).

We reached PJ at 8:00am, refueled the car and unloaded at YowCH’s parents’ home. Then we took mom and dad out for dim Sum breakfast at Jin Xuan Damansara.

After breakfast, we dropped parents back home and went out to One Utama for shopping.

We had local food for snacks.

To avoid the jam, we left One-U at 5:00pm and when we reached home, we cleaned the car interior and had some play time.

Mom prepared a great dinner!

After dinner, we sat around a bit, and went out with the Tans and Chee Kean to eat durians at SS2.

After dinner, we visited Chee Kean’s place, with the family meeting Jeanne Chan for the first time (YowCH met her 3 weeks earlier when he was in KL for work).

David packed Indomee goreng from Kayu for supper as he doesn’t eat durians.

1 Dec 2017 (Friday):
Friday is a public holiday in PJ/KL – birthday of Prophet Mohammad. We had breakfast at home.

After breakfast, we visited the National Monument (Tugu Negara), reaching the location at 9:45am.

This is where we remember and honour the glorious dead, the soldiers who gave their lives for the country.

We left the Tugu at about 10:45am and visited the National Museum nearby. Only RM2 for each adult citizen and free for children under 12.

Malay kris:

Queen E is still very much the queen of England now.

This is a model of the typical tin mining dredger barge.

Minibas KL and Proton Saga (first version).

We bought some kacang puteh outside the museum.

We left the Museum at about 1:45pm and went to Tropicana for lunch and more shopping.

We reached home at about 4:30pm, rested for a while, and left for IOI Mall, Puchong at 5:30pm. We had dinner with mom, dad and the Tans at Imperial Dragon.

After dinner, we walked about the mall a little, and entered the Great British Circus at IOI Mall at 8:00pm.

We had Hot Seats tickets, and the view was really good.

The circus show ended at 10:30pm, and we reached home at 11:15pm. Samuel and mom had some cake for supper.

2 Dec 2017 (Saturday):
We had some tong yuen breakfast and then went to Kampong Chempaka for brunch.

A little playground time after brunch.

Then we visited the Tans’ home in Taman Megah, and rested a bit.

At 2:00pm, we reached Icon City and visited the Arts & Lights event (publicity of properties for sale under developer Mah Sing).

We returned home at about 3:30pm, and the Tans bought chendol and rojak for afternoon snack.

We had dinner at home take away food including a duck!

Later at night, we met Chee Kean and Thean Seong for supper at Kayu.

Then we visited Jeanne again. YowCH also helped Chee Kean re-string his guitar.

3 Dec 2017 (Sunday):
We went to Jin Xuan again for breakfast, with YowCH’s parents and the Tans.

After breakfast, we shopped at Giant. At 2:00pm, we went to SS2 for porridge lunch at Soong Kee.

After lunch, the children went home with mom and dad while YowCH and Grace went to Paradigm Mall for more shopping and massage. We bought a Thomas the Train tracks set.

Dinner at home.

After dinner, we rested at home, and then went out to Syed Abu for supper.

4 Dec 2017 (Monday):
YowCH went to work and a meeting in the morning. Grace and the children packed and had lunch at home. At 2:05pm, YowCH returned home, and we left PJ home at 2:35pm.

We stopped by an A&W outlet in Puchong as the children wanted to try Coney Dog.

By 6:50m, we reached Gelang Patah and had KFC for dinner.

We then refueled and joined the short queue at the checkpoint at 7:55pm. By 8:25pm, we cleared the Singapore checkpoint and headed home.

We reached home at 8:40pm and unloaded fully by 8:50pm. Our new trolley was very helpful.

We thank God for a good holiday with family and friends, safe drives and good time of shopping and visiting the Tugu and Museum.
