110514 TYLin farm trip

T.Y.Lin staff club organised a Farm Trip (coordinated by YowCH) to the Singapore Farms at Lim Chu Kang area.

We met at TYLin office at 8:15am and drove to Farmart while TYLin colleagues took the chartered bus.

The actual tour started at 9:15 when we set out from Farmart towards Hay Dairies (Goat farm). We saw goats being milked and got some free goat milk to bring home.

After Hay Dairies, the next stop was Khai Seng (Fish farm).

They were also farming bullfrogs.

Just as we went outdoors, a drizzle started, and we took the bus to the next stop.

At Kin Yan Agrotech, we say wheatgrass farming and some new venture into mushroom and fungus farming. There, we bought some fresh mushrooms.

The cactuses were also farmed as food.

Joseph was happily sampling the jelly (Gui Ling Gao).

The final stop before we returned to Farmart was Kok Fah Technology Farm. They have a market open to public on weekends adn public holidays, selling fresh local vegetables and imported groceries at good prices.

At this point, Joseph needed a nap.

We bought some vegetables.

After Kok Fah, we returned to Farmart where we had catered lunch. The tour host, William Ho was very generous, his wife made a large bowl of crocodile meat to go with our lunch.

When we were done with lunch, we visited some of the pet animals at Farmart. Joseph was bitten by a rabbit while feeding it with carrots.

This is Uncle William’s shop at Farmart:

He gave each who attended the tour a pack of 15 quail eggs each (William is from LWH Quail farm), we took 3 packs.
