Day 1: Sunday 18 Dec 2016 – The Peak
We arranged with Gene for a 5-day holiday in Hong Kong with mum, dad, Gene and the Yows. The last trip to Hong Kong was in 2008 with T.Y.Lin company trip (before Joseph was born). For this trip, we packed rather light with space in our luggage to fill with stuff we bring home from Hong Kong. Little did we know that the cold weather clothes were mostly not needed due to an unforeseen extra hot week.
Samuel loves looking at the plane. We flew SIA, and took off at 8:00am.
The flight was great, landing at 11:40am.
We took 2 cabs and reached The Vela (Causeway Bay) at about 1:30pm.
After unloading, we walked out for lunch at Lei Garden nearby. Dim Sum!
The we took the MTR and walked a bit to get to the Tram Station for The Peak.
The queue was rather long, as many tourists want to get up to view the evening skyline of Hong Kong.
We queued for 1 hour and spent 5 minutes on the tram to reach The Peak. We immediately walked up to the observation deck of the Sky Terrace.
We reached the Sky Terrace on The Peak at about 5:45pm.

We booked our dinner at 9:30pm, so we walked about a little to kill some time. Bought McD’s (pork burger) and tarts.
Our dinner at Bubba Gump started at 9:10pm. Very heavy Western dinner.
At about 10:40pm, we queued again for the tram to get down.
Upon reaching the tram station, we took cab back to the hotel, reaching at about 11:35pm, and slept just past midnight. A rather tiring first day.
Day 2: Monday 19 Dec 2016 – Disneyland
We woke up at 6:45am, and left the hotel at 7:45am for breakfast at Cafe de Coral.
After breakfast, we took the MTR to Disneyland, reaching at 9:50am, just in time for the opening.
First time Joseph and Samuel visit Disneyland.
We rode a raft over to Tarzan’s Treehouse on an island.
Next was Grizzly Gulch, a new cowboy town attraction. YowCH rode a roller coaster with Esther, David and Joseph here.

Mystic Manor is also new.
And also the new Toy Story Land. We all had some rides here.
We had lunch at the Banquet Hall, the largest eatery in Dsineyland, at about 2:00pm.
Right after lunch, we took a spin in the tea-cups and catch the Parade!
Samuel and Joseph were absolutely thrilled.
Small World!
After Small World, we bought some snacks, and Grace, Gene and the older children went for the Space Mountain ride. YowCH took Samuel to the gentle Space Ship Merry-go-round with ups-and-downs.
The we went shooting with Buzz Lightyear.
We were all pretty tired by then, so we returned to the Main Street to wait for the Lights Parade and the closing fireworks.
By the closing at 9:00pm, Samuel was sleeping.
We took two cabs back to the hotel, reaching at 11:00pm. Then YowCH went out with Gene to buy supper (and shared a beer). We ate the supper in our room, while Samuel and Joseph were sleeping.
Finally, we all slept at about 12:30am.
