081124 Joseph’s birth

We praise and thank God for the arrival of our third child, a son, on 24 Nov 2008 9:25pm. We named him:

We had breakfast and the routine scan and doctor’s check-up in the morning. Dr. Tan suggested starting the birth, so YowCH sent Esther and David off to school.

Grace was given Prostin in the Delivery Ward at 11:30am to start the birth process. YowCH went back to TYLin to prepare the office work for a few days’ absence.

Later she was moved up to Ward 8134 to rest and wait.

At 5:30pm, mum and dad arrived. YowCH went down to the childcare to bring Esther and David.

At 6:15pm, Grace was moved back down to the Delivery Ward. Oxytocin was administered at 8:40pm.

The graph shows the baby’s heartbeat and the mother’s contractions. This was taken 15 minutes before the baby’s arrival, just when Grace felt the need to push.

After a short time, at 9:25pm, Joseph was born. His weight at birth was 3.2kg.

That’s Grace just after giving birth, not an easy job.

Joseph has a frown. He is very alert and active.

Another view of Joseph. Looks very much like Esther and David.

The boy started suckling immedaitely, and kept at it for over half an hour.

We moved up to Ward 8134 at 11:05pm. Joseph was brought to the nursery.

That’s YowCH, having a noodle at 11:30pm bought from 7-eleven. Grace had some cream crackers (so sad).

At 9:00am, Esther, David, Mum and Dad arrived. Gene, too but not in this picture.

That’s Gene with Joseph.

Yan arrived at about 11:30am.

  1. Your room is just like ours – we are at 8217 and it features the same flowery pattern on the pink wall.

  2. Your baby coming soon? Great news.

All the KKH rooms look the same, you can refer to our Esther and David photos, too, under “old site”.
