YowCH & Grace

For the 1-week school holidays, Grace and YowCH took a day off on Wednesday to bring the children to the Jurong Bird Park. We reached just after 9:00am and there was not many people at the Park.

We watched the new Kings of the Sky show (started just a week ago) featuring birds of prey:

We had picnic lunch of sandwiches at the centre of the Park.

The Lory Loft was interesting, we bought a tub of nectar mix for $3.00 to feed the lorys.

Then it was David’s favourite area, the birds of prey exhibit:

By now, it was about 3:00pm and the sky was darkening with rain clouds. We pressed on, and saw the large birds, and the pelicans feeding.

Then the rain came down in torrents. We sat in the shelter at the pelicans show with the iPods keeping the children busy. We had to wait until the rain slowed down as it was really pouring very hard, and then made a quick getaway with umbrellas when there was a window of lighter rain.

We were cold and hungry, so we made a stop at Bongo Burger for a heavy tea-break.

After the break, the rain died and we left for home at about 4:30pm.

We thank God for the good experience of the birds, the time spent together as a family and the good weather (the rain was good training, too).
