151127 to 1201 Trip to PJ
We took a short weekend holiday to visit YowCH’s parents in PJ from 27 Nov (Friday) to 1 Dec (Tuesday). As usual, we started driving early in the morning, at 4:20am, and reached PJ at 7:50am, avoiding the morning traffic. The traffic was wonderfully clear.
This is Samuel, playng with a 40-year-old educational toy.
We had breakfast and lunch at home with family.
The boys practised their violin, while YowCH practised guitar.
On Friday evening, we went out to Paradigm Mall for dinner at Purple Cane, and we pushed YowCH’s dad in the very light-weight wheelchair that we bought.
Samuel and his cousin, Yen Li, had lots of fun playing together.
Our usual, supper at Kayu. With Chee Kean, Ming Meng and Thean Seong.
On Saturday, we spent much of our time at home.
YowCH and Grace went out shopping, massage and bought some popcorn. We then had dinner at home.
Chee Kean and Ming Meng then lead us to the best hokkien-fried thick noodles at Taman Aman for supper.
On Sunday, we went out to One Utama and shopped the whole day. We met up with the Tans over lunch at Papparich.
We also had a nice Haagen Dazs ice-cream break. However, David and Esther started showing signs of virus attack.
We bought a 4″ tall Bay Max (Big Hero Six) for Samuel, and he loved it very much. YowCH also managed to find a Waterman fountain pen that matches his existing set.
For dinner, we ate Bak Kut Teh at Sunway.
On Monday, YowCH’s dad had trouble walking and standing up, and YowCH brought him to the Universty Hospital with his mum. By 5:00pm, it was confirmed that dad must be warded, although the drip and medication improved his physical conditions. After settling him down in the ward, YowCH and mum went home.
This is the dinner of noodles and Ramly burgers that we ate at home.
After dinner, we reconfigured the living room layout and placed the beds for mum and dad here for ease of mobility. Chee Kean came over to help move the heavy furniture.
On Tuesday morning, we had breakfast at home. Then YowCH and Grace went with David and Samuel to Giant to buy some stuff, while mum prepared lunch.
Mum then went to the hospital to check on dad, but was told that he needs to stay for 1 week for observation. We therefore had lunch and left PJ at 1:20pm. The drive back to Singapore was rather eventful, with heavy rains, bright sunlight and a few aggressive and inconsiderate drivers.
We stopped at Ayer Keroh Bridge Restaurant and had ice-cream break.
This is a view from inside the bridge, looking into the North-south Highway.
Our usual last stop, KFC for dinner at Gelang Patah.
After dinner, we crossed Malaysia checkpoint with no traffic, but had to queue for 40 minutes at the Singapore checkpoint. WE reached home at 7:20pm, and after a very fast unloading, YowCH sent David and Joseph to their Chinese class, while Grace and Esther unpacked and did the laundry.
We thank God that we had a good time with family and friends, and a rather relaxing weekend holiday. We pray that YowCH’s dad will get well soon.
