Melbourne Trip 2 Part 3/3
Back to 1/3. | Back to 2/3.

Day 6 – 10 Sep 2015:

After a quickie breakfast at Lims’ home, we drove to Mornington and stopped for a while in the town for coffee.

The first place we visited was the Pure Peninsula Honey apiary.

Then we drove South to Boneo Maze.

We booked our horse ride with Gunnamatta Trial Rides at 3:00pm, and rushed to arrive by 2:30pm. So we picked up some fast food from nearby town Rosebud.

Samuel was very eager to ride, too, but he was way too young and small. Esther, David and Joseph each had their own horse to ride.

WE drove to Redhill for wine tasting, at this vineyard called Ten Minutes By Tractor.

Then, before the sun sets, we drove up to Arthurs Seat. Very nice town scene from the vantage point.

As we drove back to Melbourne, we stopped by at the Coles supermarket and got some gifting snacks and kangaroo meat. Then we had pho for dinner, which Samuel bought from the Vietnamese are of town. YowCH pan fried the kangaroo steak.

Again we had time to chit-chat, had ice-cream and devotion before sleeping.

Day 7 – 11 Sep 2015:

We had breakfast with the Lims, then headed out to Ballarat for Sovereign Hill.

We grabbed an early fast food lunch and entered Sovereign Hill at about 11:15am.

We saw the gold pour, not as large as the Perth Mint, but exciting for the children.

The 1:30pm firing. The drummer seems to be the same guy we saw 6 years ago!

At 1:45pm, we entered the mining tunnel tour. Very nice experience of the company mining and independent (private, solo) mining.

When we got back up to ground level, we roamed the town, and bought souvenirs.

Musket firing at 3:00pm.

We had a late lunch at bout 4:00pm.

Here the children are trying to pan for gold in the Gold Creek.

Samuel had a fun time here.

At 5:00pm, Sovereign Hill closed, and we walked across the road to the Gold Museum.

We then went shopping for some house-visiting gifts (snacks and fruits), and left Ballarat at about 6:30pm.

After a fast drive, we reached Point Cook at about 7:30pm to visit Kabir and family. They brought us out for dinner at Point Cook Town Centre, Priya Indian Cuisine.

This is Melbourne at night, as we drove back to the Lims’ home.

We reached home at about 11:30pm ad went to bed soon after.

Day 8 – 12 Sep 2015:

Last day of our holiday, we woke to a beautiful sunny morning (not too cold) and had breakfast on the patio.

Then as packed all our stuff and loaded the car to drive off. Here are some flowers from the Lims garden.

The Lims brought us to Rowville where the Community Centre has a really nice playground.

This is the departing group photo. We had Hungry Jacks for lunch at this spot after taking this photo.

The Lims then drove off to the routine, and we drove to Melbourne city.

After some traffic jam, we reached Queen Victoria Market at about 2:00pm. We shopped until 3:00pm, and drove over to return the car, and took the courtesy van to the airport.

After a long queue at the immigration, we boarded the flight and took off on time at about 6:00pm.

We arrived safely in Singapore at about 11:20pm (Singapore time), ahead of schedule. We took a cab and reach home at 12:30am.

Here’s a photo of the stuff we got from Australia this trip.

We thank God for this wonderful family holiday, where we had a relaxing time, had fun with friends and enjoyed the outdoors, and farms, the tourist places, the food and the weather.
