150613 to 21 Church Camp 2015 Putrajaya and PJ
Church Camp 2015 was held from 15 to 19 June, we left Singapore at 5:00am on 13 June (Saturday) and after a nice drive, reached PJ home at about 8:30am. The car was packed full of goods, including the cajon, amplifier, guitar, ukulele and clothes and toys for the Tans.
Upon arrival and while resting, YowCH fixed the Isis spoiler with help from the minions.
Loon arranged for lunch at the Korean BBQ buffet, and we had a great time feasting!
For dinner, we ate at Paramount, nice local food.
Then we had supper with Chee Kean, Ming Meng, Thean Seong and the Tans at Syed Abu.
Next morning, Sunday, we had dim-sum breakfast with the Tans at Jin Xuan. Then we went to Mid-valley Megamall for the Minions promotion.
We also bought many things, given the strong S$ against the weak RM (S$1.0 = RM2.8). We had lunch at Reminisce, shopped some more then went home.
Back at home, the boys helped Daren put the giraffe rider together. This is our gift to Yen Lee, but Samuel tested it out first!
The boys also tried out the RC cars, an Aventador for Joseph and a Reventon for David.
We also bought a nice ukulele, with the pre-amp. This uke sounds very nice.
Here’s Samuel on the weighing machine, about 8.2kg, still very light.
We had dinner at home.
Church Camp:
We went out to Megaherb to shop for sundries and snacks, then left for church camp. We reached Putrajaya at about 11:30am, and thank God, our rooms at The Everly Putrajaya were ready, so we checked in.
We had two adjoining rooms on level 4.
We had a quick lunch at MacDonald’s, and then some coffee at Dome.
With lunch completed, we started our service for camp, testing the instruments and taking photos.
The durian party started at 3:30pm. Followed by the camp events. Esther helped with the juniors, and YowCH was the Camp Commandant and Photographer.
Here’s the English sessions:
And the children sessions:
The Chinese sessions were also at this camp.
As Commandant, YowCH made most of the announcements.
Between events, we had fun with our friends.
Here’s the work table, with 2 laptops, numerous phones and chargers!

We had some shopping time at Alamanda, which is right next to the hotel.
Wednesday lunch was on our own (free-and-easy) and we ate at Absolute Thai, Alamanda.
We had time for swim (in the miserably small pool) on afternoons of Wednesday and Thursday.
On Thursday night, the children had their performance, and Samuel ran onto stage to join Joseph and David!
Here’s a photo of us during a camp session:
And here’s our departure photo in our room.
We had lunch with some friends at Alamanda Madam Kwan’s, before leaving for home at about 1:30pm.
Back to PJ home:
Friday night we had dinner at home, then we went out for durian supper at Section 17, and then roti Tisu at Kayu with Chee Kean and Ming Meng.
On Saturday, we had lunch with the Tans and the Loos at Paradigm Mall Heritage Village. Nice food.
Dinner was bak kut teh near Sunway.
We had supper with Che Kean, Ming Meng, Thean Seong and Sri at Syed Abu, then we visited Chee Kean’s dogs, Chaco and Colly.
We had breakfast on Sunday morning with the Tans at Kampung Cempaka.
Then we spent time at home packing and resting. YowCH’s aunty visited at about 3:00pm.
We packed up and left home at 4:45pm. After a good drive, we reached Gelang Patah at 7:45pm and had KFC dinner (as usual).
After dinner, we reached Malaysia checkpoint at 9:00pm and left Singapore checkpoint at 9:30pm, a very short queue. We reached home just before 10:00pm, and the minions were helpful in unloading and unpacking.
We slept early at about 11:30pm, as YowCH had a meeting at 9:00am on Monday, and David had classes at 8:00am.
We thank God for time with family and friends, time for church Camp, and the relatively peaceful week with little work pressure for YowcH. We also thank God for safety in our drives, and for taking care of YowCH’s dad.
