130708 Zoo trip 23

Youth Day was on 7 July, 2013 (Sunday) and today is the holiday in-lieu for schools. Grace took the children to the zoo. YowCH went to work.

We left home at about 10.00am and had breakfast at Block 37. We reached the zoo at 10.45am, and with membership, we skipped the long queue for tickets.

The polar bear area has been rebuilt into “Frozen Tundra”.

Couldn’t get a photo of the polar bear as it wasn’t feeding time.

As it is not a weekend, Friends-of-the-Zoo (members) gets free tram rides.

The bats look great! Grace took these nice photos.

King Julien’s relatives from Madagascar:

And a tarantula.

About lunch time, the children went to the water-play area.

Then a snack of Ben and Jerry’s ice-cream. These photos by Esther.

The carousel ride was $4.00 each! Ridiculous.

Standing on Ah Meng’s tomb.

Met Joseph’s Sunday School friend, Nathan.

Grace got this nice shot of the tiger swimming:

At about 3:45pm, KFC lunch, very late lunch.

We left the zoo at about 4:15pm. A nice outing to the zoo , not a very large crowd and the children enjoyed the day.
