100614 to 20 Church Camp 2010, KL and PJ
Our church camp this year from 14 to 18 June, was held in The Saujana, Kuala Lumpur which is actually at Subang near the airport and only a short distance from YowCH’s parents’ place. The topic is “The Tapestry of Community”.
We drove up from Singapore at 5:00am on 14 June 2010 after the launching of the last segment for YowCH’s NUS Link Bridge (launching was from 1:00am to 3:30am).
That’s our luggage, we are also carrying the church bass guitar and two music stands which are already in the car.
Here’s our stop over at Ayer Keroh.
We reached YowCh’s parents place at about 9:30am after a drive of 4.5 hours. We then met up with the eFG convoy at Giant, Kelana Jaya for lunch at the nearby Old Town, before setting out to camp at Saujana.
One of the first things at camp was the durian party.
We had lots of fun in the pool with the rest of the children.
After swimming, we would sometimes join the football guys.
On Wednesday morning, YowCH coordinated and took the camp photo.
Here is the photo of the Chinese Ministry campers:
Joseph, Guo Yi and Miriam had some fun together during the sermon sessions (sorry, no photo of Miriam here).
More pool fun:
Some games for the campers:
More Nerf and football fun:
Dinner on Wednesday was at Subang Parade, Overseas Restaurant (no photos posted). Dinner on Thursday was poolside BBQ.
The Juniors then presented some songs, which were very well received by the adults.
Joseph got so excited that he climbed onto the stage to join in the dancing.
On Friday morning, the eFG campers took a picture together. With 27 of us, eFG is about 7% of the whole camp of about 380 persons.
That’s a family photo before we left the camp on 18 June to visit YowCH’s parents over the weekend.
Thank God for a good time learning the lessons by Dr Rod Wilson, spending time with the church community and enjoying the activities. We also thank God that it wasn’t any worse for YowCH who had lost his voice for 4 of the 5 camp days due to severe coughs.

After camp, we stayed at YowCH’s parents place on Friday and Saturday nights. We met Yan on Skype:
On Saturday morning, the children had fun at the playground with the grandparents:
For our drive back to Singapore, we started at 2:30pm on 20 June. We stopped at the final R&R, Tanjong Kupang for dinner at KFC. Here, you see Hsiao Yen and Han Wei who travelled with us.
Interesting to see another silver Isis parked right next to us at the R&R.
Esther and David were very helpful in unloading the stuff from the car.
All in all, we covered 850km this trip to Church Camp then PJ and back to Singapore.
