100515 Zoo Trip 19

A sudden decision to join Samuel and Hwee Leng’s family at the zoo, and to get some hiking exercise.

That’s E, D and J on the B&J cow at the entrance.

We joined up with the Lims at the entrance and headed for the “Rainforest Fights Back” show.

After the show, we walked through the primates exhibits, and saw these two young chimpanzees arguing and fighting each other.

The children had quite a splash at the Kids’ Zone.

Then it is lunch with the KFC we packed when we reached the zoo in the morning.

E & D had some tug-boat fun while J had his post-lunch milk.

Then we walked through “Rainforest” enclosure.

The mousedeer is a shy animal, not often seen.

We had close encounters with bats and lemurs.

Then we reached “Africa” to view the large animals.

Just as we headed for the exit, the orangutans came out for some play time. Here, the mother is carrying her baby, and following behind them as a young fellow.

Esther had a photo taken with a parrot.

That’s YowCH testing out his new Lowepro Slingshot 350AW, a very large slingbag which carries a large laptop, two bodies, lenses up to 70-200 f2.8, and allows side access tot eh camera without taking the bag off the shoulder. Should be great for photographic hiking/treking trips.
