Samuel attended a birthday party

Gabriel invited Samuel to Safra Toa Payoh’s Kids Amaze for his birthday party. YowCH brought him there on the Saturday morning. Samuel had great fun running around the maze with his friends for 2 hours!

In the mean time, YowCH walked across the road from Safra to visit the Dragon playground, a Singapore heritage site.

Food we ate, YowCH’s meeting with Chinese delegates, Soju

Here are some photos of the food we ate:
Mexican from Food Panda:

Home cooked pasta with meat slices:

Eating at Kay Lee with our swim coaches after swimming lesson.

Japanese food at Star Vista.

On Friday, 26 July, YowCH had a meeting with some Chinese delegates from Vanke. Here’s the group photo and YowCH’s name plaque on the table. Hong Kian also attended the meeting.

Grace ordered soju online, and with discount. Got these 10 at $85.00, usual would be about $150.00.

Joseph sewing, dinner with the Yongs

Grace made some masks, Deadpool and Spider-man.

Joseph is very interested in using the sewing machine. He has made two pencil cases.

On 20 July, we invited YowCH’s sister and family over for dinner. We had a great time eating BBQ at home.

We had beef, salmon and pork.

The pork was grilled with gula melaka, fantastic taste.

We had a good time of eating and fellowship. Especially with some soju…

Odyssey 1st inspection, Sorrento flooded, David’s Airmax worn out

The car is almost 3 years old, and YowCH sent the Odyssey for inspection ($70.62) with total traveled distance of 55,573km.

The inspection passed, and we can continue to renew road tax and drive the car.

While Gene, mom and dad were away from home, the washing machine hose burst and and Sorrento was flooded! Neighbours called Gene after seeing water floor out from the floor. YowCH went over to help rescue the situation, and managed to clean up the water in about 2.5 hours, using a makeshift squigy and a mop. Hair dryer was used to help heat up and dry under the cabinet.

Lesson learned: turn of the mains when water not in use.

David has worn out his Nike Air Max. He wore this for runs and to school, and the air bubble had burst after all the rubber was gone.

YowCH’s running shoes are also getting there.

Grace’s birthday dinner

We had a nice Greek dinner at Blu Kouzina (Dempsey) with Mom, Dad and Gene. Big thanks to Gene for the dinner.

We had lots of good food.

And the birthday cake for the 45-year-old lady!

A dinner/party for Church Mid-lifers’ Camp committee

We had a simple dinner/party for the Mid-lifers’ Camp committee. Joseph/Amy/Stephen, Jasper/Josephine and Timothy/Tracy/Theodore/Thaddea/Theophilus came. We prepared some simple pasta, baked vege and meat-ball soup, and had grilled pork and beef.

We had prepared the food several days in advance.

The under-12 children sat at the living room, while the adults and teens sat at the dining table.

We had good fellowship over the food.

Timothy even brought a cake for Grace’s birthday!

Here’s the group ohoto.

A rainbow, Samuel assembling stools, Grace’s birthday sewing table

YowCH saw a rainbow from his office window back on 5 July 2019.

We bought some stools to put in YowCH’s office as spare seats, Samuel helped assemble them.

YowCH bought a sewing table for Grace as her birthday present.

But a normal chair is a bit too short, so he bought a high stool, too.

Esther leading worship, inter-churches football

Esther was the worship leader for Youth Sunday this year:

Her voice was clear and the delivery of the songs, bible reading and prayer was very nice.

The team went through the Saturday service and the 2 Sunday services.

On Sunday, Grace swam 20 laps, David and YowCH swam 10 each, Joseph swam 8 and Samuel swam 4 (Esther was leading worship). After swim, we had football training. David helped out on the field as part of his school volunteer community service. After training, we stayed on and watched the football friendly match between The Bible Church, Singapore and Mount Carmel Bible Presbyterian Church. David played for TBC,S for a short while.

There was a case of a Mt Carmel payer getting a bad cramp, and YowCH helped him off the field.

Our church was in red. We lost 1:4.
