Dinners, Skylanders, iPhone sold

On Sunday evening (after Joseph and Esther return from their mission trip), we had dinner with the Yongs at Canton Paradise, Star Vista, for Joseph’s birthday.

On Tuesday, we had a simple macaroni 芽菜鸡 for dinner. The tougeh and carrots were bought by Samuel in his school trip to the market!

Just an update on our Skylanders, we bought Trap-team for Joseph for his birthday, and this is our line-up now.

On Wednesday night, we went to Timbre @ Gillman for dinner and music. It was very quiet unlike the weekends where the place is super crowded.

And we sold the iPhone XR 128GB that we bought with Joseph’s phone plan for $980 to a young man (student).

Joseph and Esther on Mission Trip to Batam

From 23 to 25 Nov, Joseph joined our church’s mission trip to Batam under the juniors program, and Esther went along as an adult helper.

Joseph’s birthday dinner, HDB loan paid off [edit: until Apr 2019], YowCH’s health check

We did an early birthday dinner for Joseph at Morganfield on Tuesday night as he will be away on a church mission trip this coming weekend.

We had lots of meat!

Our HDB flat loan has been fully paid off! the flat is now fully owned! Well, not that we own it, but we have paid in full the lump sum tenancy.
[CORRECTION: 11 Jan 2019: We are still paying the loan until April 2019]

YowCH went for his health check on 31 Oct and met the doctor for the results on Wednesday. Thank God that all is well (even his blood pressure), but high on cholesterol. Need to reduce fatty food, seafood and other food with high cholesterol. Regular exercises of 2 runs and 1 swim (and football coaching) weekly is certainly helpful.

Joseph’s phone line

We have given Joseph his own phone line on 19 Nov. He will be using David’s previous iPhone SE, and we will sell the iPhone XR 128GB on Carousell.

We have also issued one set of house keys to Joseph. By next year, at 10+ age and attending Primary 5, he will be old enough to manage his own matters.

He will celebrate his birthday this weekend in Batam during a church mission trip (attended by Esther and Joseph).

Weekend updates

Esther collected her new iPhone XR 64GB (Coral) on 15 Nov. She then sat for her final O-levels paper on 16 Nov (Fri) before changing to her new phone.

Incidentally, YowCH woke up to a stuck door pad-lock and had to climb the window to get out of the house.

We bought a new lock, and the locksmith’s charge to cut the lock was $50.

In the evening, we went to Spruce for dinner and music to celebrate the end of O-levels for Esther.

On Saturday, YowCH ran his usual 2.5km in 12m30s, quite a norm nowadays. After running, he went to Church Management Committee meeting, then his colleague’s wedding (in Yishun) and then attended church. The family went to join Sorrento for lunch before church.

On Sunday, we went for for our swim where Grace and YowCH did 20 laps each (YowCH completing 10 free-style laps non-stop). After which Esther and YowCH went for Christmas Caroling practice and musicians while the rest rested in Sorrento. After carols, YowCH, Joseph and Samuel attended football training, and then we all went to the birthday party of the Ngs, having a nice evening of food, beer/wine and live music.

West Coast Wolves junior league 11 Nov

The West Coast Wolves hosted a soccer league game at Clementi Station, with partnership of Ulu Pandan and Taman Jurong.

It was a great morning, cool air and nice sunlight.

YowCH was doing photography and management of the West Coast teams (Under-6, U-8, U-10 and U-12).

Under-6, with Samuel.

Under-10 with Joseph.

Samuel was totally enjoying himself as a reserve. He didn’t play at all, but watched the games and had snacks.

Joseph played goalkeeper. But the opponents in U-10 were all very strong, his team did not win any of the games!

Samuel’s team won the U-6 group! He is a champion, even though he didn’t play! Actually, there were only 2 U-6 groups and the other group wasn’t very good.

Joseph got a medal for participation.

Lunch was provided, and right after the final U-12 games, the weather turned bad and it started to pour!

Lunch at Colbar, Esther gift to Samuel for BD

On Deepavali, YowCH took the children to Colbar for lunch. Grace was working.

Esther bought a gift for Samuel, for his birthday – a nice Lego set!

West Coast Wolves in CBC, dinner and drink

Our football training was disrupted by heavy rain and lightning, and we moved the team from Kent Ridge Secondary School to Clementi Bible Centre (our church building) for theory lessons.

It was a fruitful afternoon. Thank God for the space.

For dinner, we had Food Panda Western food, and finished with a nice Emperor Soju given by Paul.

Dinner with Yongs for Samuel’s birthday

The Yongs met us at Square2 Tunglok and bought dinner for Samuel’s birthday! We took a very nice round the table panoramic shot (click for larger image):

David’s G-Shock Gulfmaster

We got David a G-Shock Gulfmaster GN-1000B-1A for his Gold achievement in swimming and an early Christmas gift.

Here’s comparing to his current G-shock AW591.

The Gulfmaster has a nice white LED light.

Now the family has the full range of the Masters of G, the aviation-themed Gravity Master (Esther’s), the rugged land-based Mudmaster (YowCH’s) and the marine-based Gulfmaster (David’s). We are all wearing very large rugged watches.
