We had our first cell-group meeting at the Tan’s new place at Upper Thomson on Friday 19 Jan.
For Grace’s 20th anniversary with KKH, she received a certificate, a notepad, $400 of vouchers and $100 in a cash-card.
YowCH has been running regularly, from 2.5km to 5.0km. Even on 14 Jan when it was drizzling and the air temperature as the lowest in Singapore (since 2016) at 22°C.
YowCH also managed to swim 500m (10 laps) non stop in free style for the first time. Grace is now regularly doing 20 laps of breast stroke with some breaks in between laps.
We threw a party for YowCH’s office, this time only for close friends and direct colleagues, on Friday evening, 29 Nov.
Mum, dad and Gene also came.
We had great food from Stamford Catering, and drinks-menu. We also served liquors and Esther was our bartender.
On Saturday afternoon, 30 Nov, we had another party for Grace’s KKH friends (current and previous), some relatives (Grace’s cousin, YowCH’s sister), eFG and YowCH’s old ASEAN scholar friends from Temasek JC.
Today, Joseph celebrated his 5th birthday in school with his friends. He asked for a longan cake!
Unfortunately, no guests were allowed into the Childcare Centre due to disease outbreaks, so the family did not join him. All the photos by his teacher.
We gave goodie packs of Lego Chima to his friends.
After picking Joseph up from childcare at about 4:15pm, we brought Samuel to the Lab and met Grace’s colleagues. We also brought angku kueh for them.
We had three parties for Joseph’s first month:
19 Dec 2008 evening for Cheong Hoe’s colleagues (T.Y.Lin):
21 Dec 2008 morning at Church, shared with Daniel Ng (born one week before Joseph):
21 Dec 2008 afternoon for church friends, neighbours and Grace’s colleagues (KKH):
Thank God for all the fun. And thanks to all Joseph’s friends for the gifts.
Grace’s workplace, KK Hospital, had their Family Day at the zoo today. We made our way there after church and reached about 11:15am. At zoo, we met up with Perly and brought her in together. After a short queue to collect the provided lunch (KFC) we proceeded to roam the zoo until about 4:15pm and left for home.
We were all pretty tired (I didn’t sleep well thanks to lots of office work, and Grace is 4 months pregnant). But we did have a good time looking at preserved pangolin, preserved hedgehog, a live small bearded dragon, followed the monkey feeding, the children fed the giant arapaima fish, watched the polar bear feeding.
