eFG camp at Chatsworth and YowCH’s cousin’s visit

Esther, David and YowCH had a one-night stay in a tent over at eFG’s Chatsworth camp last night (10 Oct 2008). Grace went home after the BBQ, she had to work on Saturday morning, so sad.

Those who slept outdoors: Paul, Hong Huei, Debbie, Elliot, Faith, Hong Kian, Sze Wee, Enoch, Ezra, Sonya, YowCH, Esther and David. Some photos:

Earlier, from 1 to 5 Oct 2008, YowCH cousin Huang Yin came for a holiday. We ate much and walked much. We went to the Zoo and Night Safari on Friday and went out around the CBD (with Yan and Ping Quen, too) on Saturday:

Hari Raya Aidilfitri holiday

Today is Hari Raya Aidilfitri. Grace worked half-day in the morning, and the rest of us stayed home to prepare the place for Chee Kiong, Huang Yin and Yen-Yen’s arrival this evening.

The week before, we had a 4-day holiday in PJ, and at the end of it, on Sunday morning, Esther and David were interviewed for The Star, posing with the fire-engine.

Esther and David on The Star

Last Sunday, 28 Sept 2008 was the Singapore Formula 1 race, and we had the Lims and the Chan-yins over for dinner and to watch the live telecast. Wow, exciting race, especially watching on HD5 using the projector.

In the mean time, we had another scan of Baby 3 on 29 September 2008, please visit the baby here.

Holiday in PJ

Hooray, we are in PJ now, enjoying the relaxing life of being children and grand children. We took the night train on 17 Sept and arrived on 18 Sept morning, reaching home before 7am! We will leave this Sunday (21 Sept) afternoon, reaching Singapore at night.

Last Monday, 15 Sept, Esther and David had drama presentation at their school. Esther was one of the witches in MacBeth and David was Romeo in Romeo and Juliet. Small roles only, actually, as most of the play was narrated and the play was highly condensed and only one scene or two, but it was pretty fun.

Teachers’ Day – trip to zoo

Today is Teachers’ Day and the Childcare Centre is closed. So, Grace and I took leave and brought the children to the zoo, after an early morning check-up on Baby 3.

And we have just updated the site with a page for the Church Camp – PJ holiday.

Another Flyer trip

Wow! We took yet another trip to the Singapore Flyer on 19 aug 2008. This time, for the night view, and to celebrate Gene’s birthday. It was a wonderful crab dinner first at Seafood Pradise and then up onto the Flyer.

TYLin durian trip, Lims & Yows Singapore Flyer trip and TYLin Southern Ridges walk

Wow, many activities in the last few weeks to update; starting with the TYLin Staff Club organised Durian Trip to Johore on 12 July 2008, then a trip to the Singapore Flyer with the Lims on 27 July 2008 and then a TYLin Staff Club organised walk on the Southern Ridge from Telok Blangah Rise to HortPark passing the Henderson Wave and the Alexandra Arch.

Grace was excluded from the Southern Ridge walk, as she is having vericose veins problems, and should not walk too much.

More details to follow when we have the time to upload the photos.

With Mediacorp’s HD5 channel available on Starhub for free, we subscribed to Starhub on 7 Aug 08 and bought the Samsung Series 4 32″ LCD TV. Both the Starhub HD set-top box and the TV were delivered on 8 Aug 2008 afternoon, just in time to enjoy the Beijing Olympics 2008 opening ceremony on HD and the projector with the EFG gang!

Baby 3 update – It’s a BOY

We had another scan on 10 July 2008, and it is a BOY. Everything else normal, right in the middle of the band for average size of babies of this number of months.

Please visit the Baby 3 page to see latest scans.

Tomorrow we’ll be going on a T.Y.Lin Staff Club organised Durian Trip to Malaysia. More updates after that.

Esther’s ballet class

We have started Esther on ballet two weeks ago, on 29 June 2008 (Sunday). Now, every Sunday from 4:30pm to 5:30pm we’ll be at Funan Centre for her class. In the mean time, we can shop for our IT stuff, camera stuff or movies. She loves her class. We have also bought some ballet movies for her to watch, as inspiration.

KKH Family Day at Zoo

Grace’s workplace, KK Hospital, had their Family Day at the zoo today. We made our way there after church and reached about 11:15am. At zoo, we met up with Perly and brought her in together. After a short queue to collect the provided lunch (KFC) we proceeded to roam the zoo until about 4:15pm and left for home.

We were all pretty tired (I didn’t sleep well thanks to lots of office work, and Grace is 4 months pregnant). But we did have a good time looking at preserved pangolin, preserved hedgehog, a live small bearded dragon, followed the monkey feeding, the children fed the giant arapaima fish, watched the polar bear feeding.

Church Camp 2008 – Malacca, and PJ

The Bible Church, Singapore’s camp for 2008 was in Malacca from 2 to 5 June.

We had a great time in Malacca, listening to Rev Dr David Wong’s sermons and also fellowship with church members. On the free-and-easy afternoon, we went out with the young adults for a city walk and eat.

After camp, we spent 2 nights at YowCH’s parents home in PJ. That was also when we celebrated Esther’s 6-year-old birthday.

Pictures are here.
