YowCH’s crown

The saga started at least four months ago, end-Nov 2008, when YowCH felt some tinkling pain in the last tooth, lower jaw, right side. It got to the ‘needle poke every few minutes’ from 22 Feb 09. Suddenly, on 7 Mar 09 at about 10pm, it became a ‘bunch of needles stabbing every second’. YowCH couldn’t sleep and cold water sent a shocking permanent pain throughout the night.

8 Mar 09, Guan Huat, church friend and dentist, opened his clinic for emergency treatment and three root canals were drilled to relieve the pain. Come Monday, when the clinic assistant was available, the treament was completed. But there was still a little pain during the appointment to complete the root canal and prepare for crowning on 13 Mar 09, it was discovered that one of the canals actually splited into two! More work done, and the crown prepared.

Finally on 19 Mar 09, a metal crown was placed over the tooth.

Another update on the Isis, tinting completed.

YowCH’s “office photo”

Today, Grace took a photo for YowCH, as a formal photo to use for office matters, which we call the “office photo”.

The studio is actually our bedroom with some minor modifications and tight cropping. The chair that YowCH is seated on is actually our bed’s headboard! With some contruction photo and engineering books as background, the setting is quite OK for a ‘studio’ shot of an ‘office’! Here is the out take:

We have also updated the page for the Isis, scroll down to 14 March 2009 to see new photos.

Grace back to work 1 week

Wow, Grace has been back to work for one week already. Joseph is taking Infant Care pretty well now, having cried the whole of the first two days!

With Grace taking the boys to school and YowCH taking Esther to before-school-care, office hours and life goes back to a more normal routine.

YowCH is promoted to Principal and carries a heavier load at T.Y.Lin.

Not mentioned earlier is our new ride, which is viewable here.

No new updates for quite a while

We are still fine, but no new updates for 20 days already.

Next week, starting 2 March, Joseph will start infant care, and Esther will start day care in school. Grace will return to work on 4 March, and YowCH will be running about less.

Hiking at Macritchie again

Today, we had great fun hiking at Macritchie with YowCH, Grace’s dad, and Oliver bringing 6 children for a moderately difficult 7km hike, and up Jelutong Tower. The 45 photos can be seen here. We covered the distance with rest stops and a picnic in 4.5 hours.

Thank God for the good weather, the well-behaved children and the wonderful fellowship we had.

And a few days back, Joseph was sitting pretty well on the sofa:

YowCH’s parents and sister visit for CNY

YowCH’s parents and sister Loon is spending Chinese New Year in Singapore. They arrived on 24 Jan morning, and we had a simple but great dinner together. With everyone present, the table had 12 places (Joseph was on the bouncer next to the dinner table).

12 seats at the table

Yan and Ping Quen then left for Kajang and will return again on morning of 27 Jan (2nd day of CNY).

Trip to PJ, 090116 to 090118

We had a trip to PJ on 16 Jan, hitching a ride with Swee Tong, as 15 members of TYLin SG went to KL for the TYLin KL annual dinner on 17 Jan at Cititel, Midvalley.

This was Joseph’s first trip out of Singapore. We had a great time at home. Esther and David played with Yen Yen, and we met with Chee Kean for shopping and food on Saturday, before YowCH went to the dinner.

On Sunday, we took train back to Singapore. It was a great trip. The children were not too difficult and we successfully travelled by train with all three of them. We bought 4 2nd class seats and Joseph slept in the pram at times.

Added page for TYLin Southern Ridge walk

Added a page for the TYLin Staff Club organised Southern Ridges walk held on 2 Aug 2008.

Esther’s first day at school and hiking at Macritchie

Yesterday, 2 Jan 2009, was Esther’s first day at primary school. She’s now a student of Gan Eng Seng Primary School, class 104. Here’s a picture of her in her uniform:

Today, YowCH took Esther, David, Isaiah and Nate to Macritchie for a 5km walk, the site is here.

Not to forget to mention Joseph’s first shopping trip at 29-days old here.
