Samuel going out

We went downstairs for breakfast, and realised that the baby carrier/pram is in the car. Grace came up with the great idea of putting Samuel in the laundry basket lined with a blanket.

Later in the evening, we went out to Great World City for dinner (at Poulet) and a little shopping. This is Samuel’s first trip shopping.

This is Joseph pushing the pram, but Esther and David also helped.

Samuel update, passports

Just an update, Samuel is doing well, although we still go for regular check-ups for his jaundice.

Samuel has gotten his Malaysian Passport.

YowCH golf at Ria Bintan

TYLin Management organised a golf game at Ria Bintan Golf Club (Indonesia) from 9 to 10 Nov 2013 (Saturday to Sunday). There are 2 courses, Ocean (18 holes, very pretty) and Forest (9 holes, rather normal). The players (8 total) left Singapore at 11:00am.

Once we reached the Resort, grabbed a quick lunch and started the first 18 holes on Ocean Course at 12:45pm (Indo time). The photos are of holes 8 and 9, very pretty sea view.

This faraway photo is the first flight, the better and faster players. YowCH is of course in the second flight.

The first game ended at 5:15pm, with YowCH losing 12 balls and scored nothing (5 actual +3, the rest more than +3). We then left for seafood dinner at Restaurant Kampoeng Nelayan, and the food was great. The 8 of us drank 4 bottles of wine at the restaurant and after dinner, another 2 bottles during chit chat (one colleague did not drink, being Moslem).

We slept at 11:00pm.

The next morning, we started playing at 6:45am, but it was drizzling (rather heavy at times) for the first 3 hours.

Again nice sceneries on the Ocean Course.

The first 18 holes on Ocean Course was completed at 11:45am. After a short 15 minutes lunch, we played the next 9-holes on the Forest Course, ending at 2:00pm. YowCH lost 13 balls in the first 18 holes and 6 more in the second 9 holes. But scoring wise, there were 7 actual +3 and once a +1!

After a quick shower, we departed and reached Singapore at 6:45pm (Singapore time), and YowCH reached home at 8:15pm after dropping off the overseas colleagues at their hotels (having shared a cab).

Big thanks to Grace and the children for supporting this outing. Also big thanks to Grace’s parents who helped out and sent David to the Scouts campfire, and to Quincy for fetching Esther to ballet and back, and to Hong Kian who took the boys to soccer. Not easy to get away for a game of golf! And also to Fen Leong for lending YowCH his golf set.

Another terrapin died, Joseph on booster seat

After struggling for 3 weeks with the eye-infection, the terrapin finally died.

The problem is that they won’t eat when they can’t see, and they will then die of hunger. Terrapins only eat when there is light. The eye-infection, causing swelling, shuts off the eye, effectively making it blind.

Joseph has upgraded to booster seat without the back-rest. He is large enough now, able to buckle himself into the seat and the booster is smaller and easier to store in the car.

Car seat and pram

The car seat from the Ngs really comes into good use now. We are using the Graco Snugrider without the base, as the base takes up lots of space in the Isis (a relatively small MPV).

Samuel is happy in the seat, no crying while he is in there!

Samuel is home

Grace discharged from the hospital today at 11:30am.

Samuel is home.

Samuel’s birth page is updated with a few more photos.

Samuel updates

We planned to bring Grace and Samuel home today after church, but it seems she needs to remain for observation, so they are still in KKH.

YowCH’s parents arrived in Singapore this morning, and visited Samuel after lunch.

Baby 4 born!

Praise the Lord!

Yow Bak Hak, Samuel (游百赫), born on 26 Oct 2013 at KK Hospital, 2.45kg.

Both mother and baby healthy and fine.

For reference, Esther and mum made this graphic:

Washing communion cups, dinner with mum

Today, we started our duty in washing the Holy Communion cups. Esther did most of the washing, with David drying and Joseph helping with arranging.

Some friends in The Well also helped, and Grace did the final checks on cleanliness.

Later in the evening, we had dinner at Sin Hoi San with mum (and dad and Gene, of course) to celebrate mum’s birthday.

We ate a grand feast of great food:
Coffee ribs, tofu-mushrooms-spinach and garlic fried mantis shrimps.

Ginger fried bull-frog and Hong Kong style steamed Green Wrasse (青衣). The fish is very tender and sweet.

Finally, the dish-of-the-day, Alaskan King Crab (2.5kg, split into black pepper fried and cheese steamed). Very expensive but tasty and nice meat.

Trip to Chek Jawa under ACES-YPC

ACES-YPC, which YowCH is a member, organised a trip to Chek Jawa at Pulau Ubin today from 1;30pm to 5:30pm. YowCH brought the children along.
