KTP durian party, Magnext, Joseph basketball

KTP had a durian party on 8 Aug, prior to the Singapore National Day. The SJ bosses came over, too.

We took the Magnext set out, and Samuel enjoyed building 2D and 3D creations, together with Joseph.

Here are 2 photos taken of Joseph playing basketball with his friend in school, after the official training session.

Movie outing for Esther, David and Joseph

Today is the day after Singapore National Day, and schools are on holiday. This afternoon, Esther, David and Joseph went to Tiong Bahru Plaza to watch a movie by themselves, The Emoji Movie.

Food, swim and Samuel’s Engineer toy

We continued our on-line ordering with Indian food from Brinda’s:

Grace worked night, so she skipped swimming, but here are the rest of us:

Samuel enjoyed the Engineering toy set, so we took out the larger box, and he was absolutely delighted with the increase in building materials!

Here’s a little miscellaneous post: our neighbour, bought a grey Honda Odyssey recently, and his plate is very similar to ours!

Food & drinks, Stick Insects, swim and Samuel’s toys

We often order from food deliveries nowadays, including Food Panda and Deliveroo. Here are some of the food we ordered:
Four Fingers (Korean sticky sauce fried chicken):

Nasi Lemak (Adam Road):

Pastamania:

We sometimes also eat out, like at this Thai restaurant at ARC called Soi Tai, Soi Nice:

Chee Kean helped us get a very nice tea, Xia Yue Gan (小月甘):

Joseph had a school excursion and he bought 2 stick insects, his new pets, Sticky and Woody:

The stick insects eat leaves of guava, jambu air, green beans or hibiscus. We went to Redhill Close to harvest some hibiscus leaves.

Here is a photo taken at our weekly swim:

Grace took out the Engineer set for Samuel, he really enjoyed it.

Grace’s birthday meals

On 13 July, Grace had dinner with YowCH and Samuel at Three Little Pigs (Tiong Bahru Plaza). The other children were in their Chinese classes.

That night, Grace had 3 cakes from Esther. We opened the Hwayo (high grade soju) and had a nice drink.

On Sunday, 16 July, we met YowCH’s sister at Vivocity for dinner at Morganfield’s. Really nice fellowship over ribs and other meats.

After dinner, we took a walk on the waterfront facing Sentosa.

Sam’s Moana Lego, Grace’s early birthday dinner

We bought a set of Lego for Samuel, with Moana, Maui, Hei Hei, a boat and an island. He was able to follow 60% of the instructions and built it over 3 nights with the other guiding him.

On Tuesday night, 11 July, we had an early birthday dinner for Grace at Xin Wang. The birthday package included this huge mango ice.

Weekend activities

Some weekend activities:

We had lunch at The Sapling, a training restaurant for the service industry, at the Enabling Village, behind Gan Eng Seng Primary School. Esther and David went to church early.

For dinner, after church, BCG met at Pepperoni Pizza, Biopolis for really nice pizzas, including 2 huge 21″ pepperoni pizzas.

This is Joseph and his Gigo robot with sword and shield.

On Sunday, we went for our usual swim. Here is Samuel training very well. He can cover 25m with hand floats.

Grace did 1000m (20x 50m laps) with breaks in between each lap.

In the afternoon, we skipped soccer training to enjoy a movie “Spider-man Homecoming” at Great World City, a client-event by our Prudential insurance agents.

Samuel behaved very well in the cinema, but he took a 15 minutes nap during the show.

Samuel’s post-Kawasaki scan on 6 July 2017

We took Samuel to KKH for the 3rd-month echo-cardiogram follow-up scan. He behaved very well, waiting in the hall nicely for 1 hour, then scanned buy the technicians and the doctors for another 1 hour.

Results shows that there is no significant indication of any damage to blood vessels or the heart valves, so Samuel is taken off the daily dose of Aspirin.

We thank God for keeping Samuel healthy and safe after the Kawasaki Disease attack.

After the scan, we had a nice dinner (without David and Joseph who were in Chinese class) at Rollie-Olie, Star Vista.

Esther late birthday present, Samuel drinking soup

Esther finally received her birthday present from YowCH and Grace, the G-Shock GA1000FC watch that used to be YowCH’s. We had to buy a plastic resin strap online and replace the fibre-composite bracelet because the bracelet spreads wide at the watch and thus unable to hug her skinny wrist properly. The resin strap works fine.

Esther really loves the purple UV LED light of this Aviation model, which now has a plastic strap as a GA1000 (no “FC”).

Here’s a nice photo of Samuel drinking soup from a large bowl bigger than his head.

Food Panda, Soju, Little People Zoo, David on guitar

We are now ordering dinners through Food Panda. Options are plenty and we can save time on travelling, parking, walking and waiting at the restaurant.
24 June: Sichuan food:

1 July: Korean food:

Thanks to Paul Ng in helping us bring home some cheap Soju from Seoul, we had this nice grapefruit-flavoured Soju at home.

We took out Esther’s old set of Little People Zoo (which was also enjoyed previously by David and Joseph) for Samuel. He really liked the Zoo set.

And a strange thing happened – David says he wants to learn guitar, so YowCH and Esther started coaching him. Starting with basic chords like C, G, D, E, Am, and F. Hopefully he can persevere and learn enough to play.
