Samuel’s 4th birthday

YowCH bought 2 small cheese cakes to celebrate Samuel’s birthday the night before:

Samuel also packed his gifts for his friends:

On 26 Oct, we all went to Samuel’s school to celebrate his birthday with his classmates.

Samuel wanted a cake with Robo Car Poli picture.

The class sang Happy birthday in English, Mandarin and Malay.

The gifts were delivered to all his classmates.

At home, Samuel got Lego Ninjago as his birthday present, with a key-chain LED torch light.

Korean Army Hotpot, YowCH’s office blinds and health check

We did our own Korean Army Hotpot, using fuyu as the soup base. Pretty good stuff!

An update on YowCH’s office, the blinds were finally added, and it really provided great help against the morning sun.

YowCH also arranged for a TV to be placed at the meeting area between Fen Leong and him, useful for discussions.

YowCH went to Raffles Hospital for a full health check, with treadmill added. Results will be known a few weeks later, but the prelim readings looks normal.

Perhaps some bitter gourd juice to help with rising blood pressure.

Samuel first time away from parents

Samuel’s childcare was closed half day on eve of Deepavali on Tuesday. So we sent him to the grandparents for overnight stays on Monday and Tuesday. This is the first time Samuel is staying away from his parents.

Weekend updates

We visited the Jurong Eco Garden on Saturday morning. Click here or on the photos below to go to the dedicated page:

After the Garden, we dropped Esther at Church and went for lunch at the nearby Formosa Delights, before visiting parents and Gene.

For dinner, we went to West Coast market area for curry fish-head and other Chinese dishes.

On Sunday, we had our usual swim, and then lunch at McD.

In the afternoon, David played friendly game against ACS Barker Road, wile Joseph had regular training with those under-10.

After football, David and Joseph joined some of their friends in the neighbourhood for a game of basketball.

Food and drinks

Just a small update of our home-cooked food:

And a nice cold drink of vodka-lychee, chilled with -5°C stainless steel ‘whiskey stones”.

Samuel cleared of Kawasaki

We sent Samuel for a follow-up scan on Thursday, 12 Oct 2017 (previous one in July), and he has been confirmed to be cleared of Kawasaki Disease. His blood vessels and heart are all normal.

He is now discharged from further follow-ups.

We thank God for keeping Samuel strong and healthy.

Sunday School dress-up, Samuel training on bike, Wii and Odyssey damage

YowCH was to be a spy for the church Juniors Camp publicity, so he tried two set-ups – terrorist spy and elegant spy:

The church of course chose elegant, without the Guinness, of course.

And David was helping with the games and cajon during the KFC session.

At home, David helped train Samuel in cycling, still a long way to go for Sam.

Joseph and Samuel also enjoyed playing Wii together.

On the Odyssey, sadly, YowCH grazed against the wall of a very tight carpark ramp at Spring building.

Didn’t look too bad after cleaning and touch-up. He also touched up the front bumper.

Joseph’s school Children’s Day

The theme for GESPS Children’s Day this year is Disney. Joseph is a Pirate of the Carribean.

Mid-autumn lanterns, Samuel’s Minion mask

Mid-autumn is on Wednesday 4 Oct 2017, we took the lanterns out and had some nice fun time on Wednesday night.

On 4 Oct, Samuel had children’s Day celebration in school, and the theme is Minions. We made a 3D mask for him, and he won best dressed.

YowCH work place moved

KTP moved from E-Centre@redhill to Connection One (old HDB central) on 29 September 2017 to be in the same building as Surbana Jurong, our parent company. The move started on 21 September (1st pre-move) and 27 September (2nd pre-move) before the actual move. From 2 October 2017 KTP operates from Connection One tower 1 Level 22 (main) and Level 25 (Infra and Geotech).
This was on 21 Sept:

On Saturday, the boys helped YowCH move some more things over.

This was on 27 Sept. YowCH managed to shift everything over on the 2nd pre-move.

By 29 Sept, YowCH’s office was empty at E-Centre. Here are the last looks.

And this is the moved-in look at SJ.

These are the last looks of E-Centre, YowCH’s office since Dec 2002 (KTP, and before that, TYLin).

This is the KTP main entrance at level 22.

On Monday, 2 Oct, YowCH officially started work in Connection One, seated at the corner of Wing A, facing the junction of Jalan Bukit Merah and Henderson Road.

Rather good view. From this corner, YowCH can see both Gan Eng Seng Primary and Secondary Schools and also our flat at Rumah Tinggi.
