YowCH had a vegetarian dinner for his 45th birthday at Lingzhi Novena. Esther was still in school, so we packed some food for her.
We watched Avengers: Endgame at Tiong Bahru Plaza on 1 May 2019, 8:30pm show. It was exciting and nice, all 3 hours of it. We left at about 11:50pm and got home just past midnight. School and work in 6 hours!
YowCH missed the mid-week runs for two weeks and ran 5.0km on Saturday mornings, instead.
Last Sat was a drizzly morning, but YowCH still ran in the wet and cool weather. With hearty breakfast after the run.
We had a nice dinner at Sorrento after church, nice to have dinner with Grace’s parents and Gene.
Joseph likes the sewing machine. He managed to make a bag for himself, with guidance from Grace and mom.
On Sunday, YowCH managed to swim non-stop 20 laps (1.0km) in free-style, a new personal best. But it was quite slow, having taken about 35 minutes. In the afternoon, we went for soccer training for Samuel, while Joseph played in a friendly match against Bukit Batok East (lost badly).
We booked to watch Avengers: Endgame, this Wednesday night (1 May 2019). The cost for the family is $82.50, which is very high. This is the reason why we buy Bluray discs, at $30 to $40, each movie is still much cheaper than a family outing to the cinema. Plus there are many special goodies packaged in the Bluray or DVD.
We went to Church on Friday morning for Good Friday service. In the evening, we wanted to visit Kranji Turf Club for the Taiwan Shilin Night Market, but it was too crowded. Thankfully, Grace was inspired to bring along our passports and we drove on to JB to visit the Wave, where Grace’s parents are spending a few nights.
The children had some fun in the gym.
We left the Wave at about 7:30pm, and had dinner in Komtar JB. After dinner, we went shopping before leaving for home at about 10:00pm. We reached home at 11:15pm, taking a detour drive through Tuas as Woodlands was jammed packed with cars.
On Saturday, Grace went to work. David went for a 2.4km run while YowCH cycled 5km (he ran 5km yesterday). After the run/cycle, they met Joseph at the basketball court for some hoop-shooting.
Then we had a quick shower, went with Esther to Queenstown Sec School to get her official testimony and went to Tyr warehouse sale (Jalan Kilan, near home) and got some good bargains (goggles, swimsuits, sports suits and other accessories). When Grace returned from work, we had lunch at Refuel.
On Sunday, we went to Church for Easter and baptism, then swim and football.
We had another round of big bowl noodle at Tongue Tip on Thursday, this time with Esther.
David had learnt some basic guitar chords and he is able to play some songs, all thanks to the Church programme “Level-up” to bring the young members to a higher level of skills in service.
Grace and YowCH took leave on Monday, 15 April, to get some banking work done in JB, followed by assembly of furniture in the new condo, Wave at Marina Cove. We managed to pack 6 stools, 1 bench, 4 chairs, 1 mobile rack, 1 metal rack and 1 shoe shelf into the Odyssey, together with YowCH, Grace, Samuel and Grace’s parents.
After breakfast and banking in JB, we went shopping for household items at Daiso, Komtar JB.
Samuel was helpful in setting up the furniture.
For lunch, we had beef noodles and porridge at Bukit Indah.
After lunch, we went for more shopping at Tesco and then visited D’Pristine to check on the post-rectifications of the defects.
We left D’Pristine at about 7:20pm and reached home at 8:45pm.
On Thursday night, we had a big bowl of noodle after David and Joseph’s Chinese classes and before Samuel’s piano class. It was at Tongue Tip Beef Noodles at Tiong Bahru Plaza. The $50 bowl feeds 4-5 persons and comes with free-flow noodles and soup.
On Sunday, we cooked Western, with the highlight being pork chop flavoured with gula melaka. It was great!
We shared the meal with Grace’s parents and Gene. Angus beef, lamb, pork collar, cod, potatoes, peas, lettuce, century eggs, portobello mushrooms and cucumber.
Our church friends in Melbourne brought us a nice big (1 kg) bag of jelly bears!
Samuel and Joseph are now able to assemble Ikea furniture for the family.
We had dinner with the Yongs at Tunglok Teahouse (Square2) on 10 April 2019.
YowCH really likes the Nike Air Max shoes, we have a total of 8 pairs, 7 of which are in active service. David has 2 pairs, Esther has 1, Joseph 1 and YowCH 2. YowCH and David shares the white Vapormax and the white Air Max Tavas (with black tick) used to be David’s but he has out-grown the shoe.
The path leading to the carpark turns muddy after rain, so YowCH and Joseph took some spare bricks from the neighbourhood and made an upgraded path.
