190907: Grace, YowCH, Samuel and Joseph had lunch at Tiong Bahru Plaza Tino’s, eating two very smelly pizzas (4 cheeses and durian) and a rice.

Samuel was rather tired after lunch, he slept in the car.

190909: We had a late dinner (more like supper) at Sin Hoi San. Samuel enjoyed his gong-gong. We enjoyed the chicken essence bull-frog. We also had petai, venison, pork ribs, mushroom-vege and fried beehoon.

190915: After swimming in the haze (PSI 120) we ate at the nearby Mei Ling food court. Grace did 20 laps, YowCH did 20 laps + 1 lap butterfly, Esther, David and Joseph each did 10 laps + 1 lap butterfly, and Samuel did 5 laps (4 breast and 1 free).

Samuel’s mid-autumn at childcare

Samuel wore his Chinese suit for mid-autumn celebration in learning vision.

YowCH drove over after work, with Joseph, and joined the celebration.

Samuel performed several songs.

We had fun eating and we shared our home-made mooncakes, too.

Mooncakes and Mid-autumn

We had lots of fun making mooncakes, with interesting flavours and colours.

Purple for lotus paste, orange for grapefruit flavoured lotus and brown for jackfruit flavoured lotus.

We shared them with our church friends!

Then Esther and David made some red (red bean paste) and blue (yam paste) ones!

And then Grace, YowCH and Joseph made some durian lotus and coffee lotus mooncakes.

And of course, for mid-autumn, Samuel had fun with lanterns.

Weekend update – swim and soccer

We have shifted from Delta to Queenstown for swim because Delta is starting renovations (for at least 1 year)

The Queenstown main pool is deeper and wider (9 lanes). It uses salty water.

In the afternoon, we had our regular football training. Samuel is still not too interested, but Joseph is doing well. David helps out with coaching as part of his community service activity.

Food and liquors, Samuel in white shoes, YowCH’s Air Max wearing out

Some of our dinners:

And our nice liquors:

Rambutans from YowCH’s colleague’s tree, nice.

Roku Gin (Japanese) from Paul, very very nice.

Samuel is in white shoes for photo taking. He will wear them next year when he enters Primary School.

YowCH’s Air Max covered about 360km of runs and very little walking, about to be worn out.

Esther cycling and sewing, playground, Joseph sawing and Air Max repair

Esther went cycling, and YowCH took some nice photos:

Esther also made some cloth cases using the sewing machine:

Joseph and Samuel had some fun time at the playground.

Joseph can saw, he helped YowCH saw pieces of wood to fix the bed.

David’s Air Max was worn out and the bubble burst, but everything else was OK. So YowCH though of an idea to use silicone to fill the bubble to repair the shoe.

The shoe works fine after silicone injection – but heavier and not so bouncy.

Samuel attended a birthday party

Gabriel invited Samuel to Safra Toa Payoh’s Kids Amaze for his birthday party. YowCH brought him there on the Saturday morning. Samuel had great fun running around the maze with his friends for 2 hours!

In the mean time, YowCH walked across the road from Safra to visit the Dragon playground, a Singapore heritage site.

A rainbow, Samuel assembling stools, Grace’s birthday sewing table

YowCH saw a rainbow from his office window back on 5 July 2019.

We bought some stools to put in YowCH’s office as spare seats, Samuel helped assemble them.

YowCH bought a sewing table for Grace as her birthday present.

But a normal chair is a bit too short, so he bought a high stool, too.

Church Mid-lifers’ Camp

Grace and YowCH attended the Church Mid-lifers’ Camp from 15 to 17 June. Joseph and Samuel tagged along, while Esther and David attended the youth 3D2N prayer camp in church. Click on photos below for the page.

Weekend – swim, football, durians

Some updates:
Esther had a stay-over in CJC on Friday night, while David had a 2-nights stay over in church. Esther then joined David in church on Saturday night.

YowCH was teaching cajon to the church Juniors over Saturday and Sunday.

Samuel can now do 1 full lap (50m) in freestyle. Although his kicking is still not strong and his stroke is not nice, he managed to complete the lap.

Here’s a little problem of having a sun-roof, you get to see the bird shit on the car.

After swim, we had soccer practice as usual, and Joseph sprained his wrist while playing as goalkeeper. Nothing serious. YowCH did the bandage, to help immobilise and let the sprain heal faster.

We had dinner at Carrara Cafe, and bought some Mao Shan Wang during for supper.

Here’s Samuel trying to lift 6kg of durians. Being a bumper crop this year due to hot weather, MSW was selling at $16/kg rather than the usual $28/kg.

Samuel can help to open durians now, he is quite good at it.

A family photo without David, as he doesn’t even like the Durian smell.

After durians, we watched a nice thriller-superhero movie “Glass” at home.
