Samuel cleared of Kawasaki

We sent Samuel for a follow-up scan on Thursday, 12 Oct 2017 (previous one in July), and he has been confirmed to be cleared of Kawasaki Disease. His blood vessels and heart are all normal.

He is now discharged from further follow-ups.

We thank God for keeping Samuel strong and healthy.

Sunday School dress-up, Samuel training on bike, Wii and Odyssey damage

YowCH was to be a spy for the church Juniors Camp publicity, so he tried two set-ups – terrorist spy and elegant spy:

The church of course chose elegant, without the Guinness, of course.

And David was helping with the games and cajon during the KFC session.

At home, David helped train Samuel in cycling, still a long way to go for Sam.

Joseph and Samuel also enjoyed playing Wii together.

On the Odyssey, sadly, YowCH grazed against the wall of a very tight carpark ramp at Spring building.

Didn’t look too bad after cleaning and touch-up. He also touched up the front bumper.

Mid-autumn lanterns, Samuel’s Minion mask

Mid-autumn is on Wednesday 4 Oct 2017, we took the lanterns out and had some nice fun time on Wednesday night.

On 4 Oct, Samuel had children’s Day celebration in school, and the theme is Minions. We made a 3D mask for him, and he won best dressed.

Church Children’s Day, dinner at Alibabar

Church had Children’s Day, and the theme was Toy Story. We made 3D masks – Alien for Joseph and T-Rex for Samuel.

Both won best costume.

On Sunday, we skipped swim and football due to rain, but we still had a hearty Oktoberfest meal at Alibabar.

Samuel using chopsticks, YowCH QECP course

Samuel started using chopsticks at a restaurant at Tiong Bahru Plaza over dinner. Getting there.

YowCH has been attending night class, 14 sessions in total, with 2 exams and one group project submission, to be registered as a Qualified Erosion Control Professional. The classes started on 8 September and will end by 9 November.

Pool time, Foam craft, Football

Here’s a photo of Joseph and YowCH relaxing in the Sorrento pool.

During the week, David helped guide Samuel in constructing the 3D diorama of a T-Rex foam model.

On Sunday, we had friendly games for football at Clementi Stadium.

Deputy Head Esther, Geotrax

Here’s a photo of Esther, with her Deputy Head (Deputy head prefect in school) badge.

We took the Geotrax out for Samuel, and he really enjoyed the railway lines that we built. Joseph was very helpful to set up tracks for him.

Distance swim test, Samuel swam 1 lap

Today, 7 September 2017, saw Esther, David and Joseph taking their distance swim test. Grace happened to be on off today and she joined them at the pool, with Samuel, too.

At 10:15am, they were briefed by the coaches/examiners:

At 10:20am, they took off:

Joseph was doing the 1500m (30 laps) test while Esther and David were doing 2000m (40 laps) test, all within 1 hour. They did their 800m and 1500m tests earlier in April 2016. While they were swimming, Grace had fun with Samuel in the pool.

After about an hour, here are the results:

Joseph was swimming breast-stroke along with 2 other boys who are 2 years and 4 years older than him. For 2000m, Esther was the only girl and David was the youngest. Esther took 5 minutes more than the 60 minutes (probably due to lack of practice in both swimming and running) while David completed the fastest (free-style all the way).

Last photo, very tired children after the long swim.

Last Sunday, Samuel swam an entire lap by himself, with no floats, and he did that twice!

Church Teachers’ Day, Soccer, Dinner with Yongs

On Saturday, 26 August, Samuel and Joseph performed 2 songs in church for the Sunday School teachers for Teachers’ Day.

The children performed “You Never Let Go” and “The Lord’s Prayer”.

Sunday, 27 Aug, West Coast Wolves played friendly games against Choa Chu Kang CSC. YowCH was referee for the under-8 games. Joseph played in under-12 and then the adults played against WCW under-15.

YowCH:

We invited the Yongs over for dinner to celebrate Si Wan’s birthday and we had Western food.

After dinner, the cousins had fun playing with each other.

IKEA shelves for boys’ room, BCG, Saturday activities

Grace was on leave from 14 to 18 Aug, and she managed to reorganize the boys’ room for new shelves. She took Joseph and Samuel to IKEA on 17 and 18 Aug, and bought shelves which the whole family helped in setting up, completing on Saturday, 19 August.

Joseph was the tallest allowable height to enter the IKEA play area, and Samuel at the minimum height.

Firstly, Billy book shelves:

And we made a loft play area under Samuel’s bed:

On Friday night, we had cell-group (BCG) meeting:

And on Saturday, Joseph had a dip with YowCH at Sorrento:

Followed with closing session of term 2 of KFC:

The children rehearsed for Teachers’ Day celebration next week.
