Joseph and Samuel at home

On May Day (1 May), Joseph and Samuel did some craft at home:
Joseph built a Gundam robot from a kit we found in our home as we are clearing stuff.

He managed to do a good job on the robot.

Samuel coloured his kite (which Grace drew a tiger) for his outing with his school on 2 May.

After the kite, Samuel built a set of Lego from Cars 3. We got it at a good discount ($50 instead of $100, half price!). The set has total of 5 vehicles.

Toys for sale, Samuel swam 7 laps, food

We packed some old toys and put them up for sale in Carousell. The first group, in original boxes, are the Madan Warriors, Ryu-kendo, Ryu-guno and Ryu-jiro.

The second group are Ultramen (Ultra-seven, Dyna, Leo, Gaia and Mebius) and monsters (Salamadora and Geranda)

Updated 27 April 2018: 5 Ultramen sold for $25, and 2 monsters sold for $12.

Then we went swimming and Samuel swam 7 laps continuously, that’s 350m! The older children also trained well for the upcoming Swimsafe Gold standard.

As reward for good swim, we had roasted meat rice for lunch at Henderson Road coffeeshop:

And for dinner, Western at Alibabar.

Baby-G for Joseph, Samuel sushi

We bought a Baby-G for Joseph, the BGA-240-1A3, which is a new model and on discount (only $127). But he will need to earn it from his exams, swim and other responsibilities.

Samuel’s chopsticks skill is still improving, and his finger placement is still not correct, but the strength is there:

We had this sushi lunch at Sushi Tei, JEM.

Samuel swam 5 laps continuously, Cogman

Samuel swam 5 laps continuously, that’s 250m! Lots of distance for a little boy.

YowCH bought Transformer Cogman last week. A nice model, and a nice Aston Martin DB11!

CNY lion dance at SJ

On 19 Feb 2018, SJ started work with a lion dance. YowCH was on leave and school opens on 20 Feb, so YowCH brought the children to watch (Grace just ended her night shift, so she slept at home).

When the lion tossed an orange at Joseph, he very coolly caught it, while being on the stairs landing.

Not many colleagues were working on Monday, here’s a group photos of Infra and Geo combined.

Lunch at Colbar on Saturday

We had lunch at Colber:

And an afternoon swim before church for Sam and YowCH

Movie night, Joseph in Junior camp, Samuel’s injury during swim

YowCH’s old classmate and business friend invited the family to a movie screening at Kallang on Friday, 17 Nov. We watched Justice League.

After the movie, we realised that the parking is coupon parking (non-gantry) but we received a warning instead of a fine for first time offence in 8.5 years of driving. There is grace in Singapore, too.

On Saturday, Joseph went to church for Junior Camp. This is the day camp for all P1 to P5 (the P4-P5 had leadership training the weekend before in the 2 nights stay-over camp).

Joseph then stayed over in Sorrento and continued the camp on Sunday. we joined him for the camp ending dinner on Sunday night.

We had dinner with the campers, nice home cooked food.

There were performances by the juniors groups, and Joseph’s group did the story of Gideon and his army against the Midianites. Joseph was playing Gideon.

Prize giving! Joseph was selected as the Most Sporty Camper. But his group was one of the 3 groups with consolation prize (out of 6 groups).

Samuel jumped into the pool during swim class today, and hit his chin on the wall. A rather bad cut, but not too serious.

Samuel trying out in-line skates

We started Samuel on in-line skates. He is brave and able to manage on the skates, but needs lots more training to go about on his own. David is a good trainer.

Joseph is able to dribble the basketball and shoot while on skates!

Nike shop had a 30% sale, so Grace and YowCH got new shoes. Now the whole family has Nike running shoes.

Also bought for David (running shoes), Joseph (soccer boots) and Samuel (walking shoes).

Samuel’s 4th birthday

YowCH bought 2 small cheese cakes to celebrate Samuel’s birthday the night before:

Samuel also packed his gifts for his friends:

On 26 Oct, we all went to Samuel’s school to celebrate his birthday with his classmates.

Samuel wanted a cake with Robo Car Poli picture.

The class sang Happy birthday in English, Mandarin and Malay.

The gifts were delivered to all his classmates.

At home, Samuel got Lego Ninjago as his birthday present, with a key-chain LED torch light.

Samuel first time away from parents

Samuel’s childcare was closed half day on eve of Deepavali on Tuesday. So we sent him to the grandparents for overnight stays on Monday and Tuesday. This is the first time Samuel is staying away from his parents.
