Weekend updates – Transformers, food, soccer, David’s basketball team uniform, Joseph’s lantern

We bought some Transformers, the Minicons (15) are for Samuel and Joseph to share (but more for Samuel).

Rodimus Prime was on offer, got it for $80.00 instead of $99.00.

This is a 2-figures-in-1. Rodimus Prime is the combination of Hot Rod and the caravan. The Matrix of Leadership is inside the chest of Rodimus Prime.

Last Sunday, we went for swim and celebrated Fathers’ Day with a meaty lunch at Henderson Road Kay Lee.

Soccer training had a small turn-up, due to school holidays. We had some games and also theory lessons by the coach.

Here is David in his Gan Eng Seng School official school team uniforms, for home games and away games. He is officially in the school team now.

As part of the school holidays homework, we made a lantern using recycled materials – large 2L PET bottle, old hangers, ice-cream sticks and butter-paper.

The lantern is great, burns the candle very slowly and well shielded from wind.

Hiking, Karaoke, Inflatable sofa

Today, YowCH took leave and brought Joseph and Samuel to the Treetop Walk at Macritchie. Click the photo below for more photos in the dedicated page:

After the hike, we drove home to pick Grace and had Rollie Ollie lunch in Star Vista. After lunch, we got a Liho pearly milk tea drink and then went to Teo Heng Karaoke for some singing fun:

After karaoke, we shopped a bit more, and as we spent more than $80 in Star Vista and claimed an inflatable sofa (for our next picnic!).

YowCH BD in KTP, Mexico food, Joseph’s specs

YowCH’s colleagues organised a birthday makan for him and 2 other colleagues on 7 May 2018.

We ordered Mexican food from Guzman Y Gomez, delivered via FoodPanda.

On 8 May, we got Joseph his spectacles at Owndays, Tiong Bahru Plaza, for $138. Done in 45mins from checking to collection. He has myopia and astigmatism of about 125 on his eyes.

Joseph and Samuel at home

On May Day (1 May), Joseph and Samuel did some craft at home:
Joseph built a Gundam robot from a kit we found in our home as we are clearing stuff.

He managed to do a good job on the robot.

Samuel coloured his kite (which Grace drew a tiger) for his outing with his school on 2 May.

After the kite, Samuel built a set of Lego from Cars 3. We got it at a good discount ($50 instead of $100, half price!). The set has total of 5 vehicles.

Baby-G for Joseph, Samuel sushi

We bought a Baby-G for Joseph, the BGA-240-1A3, which is a new model and on discount (only $127). But he will need to earn it from his exams, swim and other responsibilities.

Samuel’s chopsticks skill is still improving, and his finger placement is still not correct, but the strength is there:

We had this sushi lunch at Sushi Tei, JEM.

CNY lion dance at SJ

On 19 Feb 2018, SJ started work with a lion dance. YowCH was on leave and school opens on 20 Feb, so YowCH brought the children to watch (Grace just ended her night shift, so she slept at home).

When the lion tossed an orange at Joseph, he very coolly caught it, while being on the stairs landing.

Not many colleagues were working on Monday, here’s a group photos of Infra and Geo combined.

Soccer league games at Clementi Stadium

West Coast Wolves hosted the West league at Clementi Stadium on Sunday, 27 Feb 2018 from 7:00am to 5:00pm.

YowCH was the photographer and odd-job guy.

Grace and Samuel were there, too.

David arrived at the field at about 2:15pm for the U15 games.

After lunch, it was the U12 and U15 games, and Grace took Samuel and Joseph to Sorrento.

Due to pouring rain and lightning risks, the finals were cancelled and the U15 had joint winners West Coast Wolves and Taman Jurong.

Senior Minister S Iswaran was present to give away the medals.

Football with Japanese club, BBQ dinner

We had friendly games with Shoot Academy, a Japanese football club on 14 Jan. They were really good and we were practically trashed, but fun time playing.

After a tough game, and with very low temperature in Singapore, eating Korean BBQ was great.

Joseph’s 9th birthday

Joseph celebrated his birthday at home with the family and a mango mousse cake.

We got him a baseball mitt while Esther got him a pair of ear-phones.

Movie night, Joseph in Junior camp, Samuel’s injury during swim

YowCH’s old classmate and business friend invited the family to a movie screening at Kallang on Friday, 17 Nov. We watched Justice League.

After the movie, we realised that the parking is coupon parking (non-gantry) but we received a warning instead of a fine for first time offence in 8.5 years of driving. There is grace in Singapore, too.

On Saturday, Joseph went to church for Junior Camp. This is the day camp for all P1 to P5 (the P4-P5 had leadership training the weekend before in the 2 nights stay-over camp).

Joseph then stayed over in Sorrento and continued the camp on Sunday. we joined him for the camp ending dinner on Sunday night.

We had dinner with the campers, nice home cooked food.

There were performances by the juniors groups, and Joseph’s group did the story of Gideon and his army against the Midianites. Joseph was playing Gideon.

Prize giving! Joseph was selected as the Most Sporty Camper. But his group was one of the 3 groups with consolation prize (out of 6 groups).

Samuel jumped into the pool during swim class today, and hit his chin on the wall. A rather bad cut, but not too serious.
