Joseph’s growing big, Esther’s doing OK at school

Joseph turned 5 months old on 24 April, a few days ago. He can now flip himself front-to-back and back-to-front on bed. He can also belly crawl to get to things that he wants. Above all, he is now more than 7kg, making him almost 2kg heavier than Esther and David when they were 5 months old.

Still smiling and bubbly as ever, Joseph normally cries only for food, when he is too hot lying down or when left alone. All he needs is someone to chit chat with, and he’ll be smiling and laughing.

Esther is doing pretty OK in school, mixing well with her friends, and doing well in her school work. She is very happy with the car fetching her to and from school. Esther is also getting comfortable speaking in Cantonese, and noted even a classmate who speaks in Cantonese with her.

The family will be spending one day in Malacca on 16 May 2009, TYLin Family Day.

David is 5, Joseph likes to read and eFG at Keppel Island

Wow! David turned 5 on 24 March, this is a photo of his birthday celebration at childcare with 19 of his classmates (one absent).

And here’s a picture of Joseph reading the “Farm Animals” cloth book while sitting on the high chair. He loves the book!

And on 28 March, eFG had a picnic at Keppel Island (see photos here).

Hiking at Macritchie again

Today, we had great fun hiking at Macritchie with YowCH, Grace’s dad, and Oliver bringing 6 children for a moderately difficult 7km hike, and up Jelutong Tower. The 45 photos can be seen here. We covered the distance with rest stops and a picnic in 4.5 hours.

Thank God for the good weather, the well-behaved children and the wonderful fellowship we had.

And a few days back, Joseph was sitting pretty well on the sofa:

Esther’s first day at school and hiking at Macritchie

Yesterday, 2 Jan 2009, was Esther’s first day at primary school. She’s now a student of Gan Eng Seng Primary School, class 104. Here’s a picture of her in her uniform:

Today, YowCH took Esther, David, Isaiah and Nate to Macritchie for a 5km walk, the site is here.

Not to forget to mention Joseph’s first shopping trip at 29-days old here.

Parties for Joseph’s 1st month

We had three parties for Joseph’s first month:

19 Dec 2008 evening for Cheong Hoe’s colleagues (T.Y.Lin):

21 Dec 2008 morning at Church, shared with Daniel Ng (born one week before Joseph):

21 Dec 2008 afternoon for church friends, neighbours and Grace’s colleagues (KKH):

Thank God for all the fun. And thanks to all Joseph’s friends for the gifts.

Joseph’s birth video done

Having started the project on 10 Dec, Joseph’s birth video was completed on 18 Dec 2008 after many hours of very hard work.

Joseph is now 25 days old and looks very much like David at the same age.

There’ll be parties to celebrate Joseph’s birth starting from tonight until Sunday evening!

Joseph is now 10 days old

Here’s a recent photo of Esther, David and Joseph. Joseph is now ten days old.

His jaundice is fading and he is very active now.

00:05 We have added a page for Joseph’s birth. Please click here to visit.

14:15 Updated with more photos.

15:15 Forgot to mention, we shall be leaving KK Hospital for home by 18:00 today! Early discharge if no problems! Hooray!

16:45 Another update, the hospital procedure says that the mother can go home, but the child must stay at least 24 hours. By 18:00 today, it would only be 20.5 hours, so Joseph must stay overnight. Well, Joseph is on total breast feeding, so if the baby stays, the mother must stay, too. Therfore, we can’t go home until tomorrow morning 11 am.

Yow Bak Hei, Joseph born 21:25

Praise the Lord and thank Him for His blessing of this boy to us.

Yow Bak Hei, Joseph was naturally delivered at 9:25pm on 24 Nov 2008, weighing 3.2kg.

Both mother and son are fine, and the father is very happy. Esther and David are very delighted, too.
