Weekend activities and meeting YowCH’s cousins

Last weekend, Esther and David worked together and finished the Lego Medieval Castle set.

They had fun cycling around the neighbourhood, too.

Joseph was also able to put together the Lego wizard set (meant for 5 years plus) with very minimal guidance.

Today, we met up with Wei Yeu and Wei Lian for dinner, then visited Yan’s family. Wei Lian, based in Taiwan, is in town for Medical conference.

Joseph Pororo

This is Joseph dressing up as Pororo. He wore the police helmet and declared, “I’m Pororo.” Grace said Pororo wears goggles and Esther found the goggles for Joseph.

Joseph’s new biker jacket

I can’t help it, when Joseph wears the jacket, he reminds me of the Ghost Rider.

Joseph is 3 years old, Nate and Hannah visit

Today, Joseph turns 3!

Two nights ago, Joseph started packing goodies bags for his classmates, 23 of them!

We celebrated his birthday in school with a large strawberry ‘farm’ cake.

Esther and David were there, too, as it is now school holidays.

He shared his goodies bags with his friends:

Later in the evening, YowCH did another round of burgers, this time to share with the Ngs (they are leaving for USA soon).

Only Nate and Hannah ate with us, we packed 3 more for Paul, Alison and Daniel.

The ugly truth about Ramly burger, you realy need to squeeze out the oil as you fry them, this bowl came from 10 patties, and YowCH did not even put any oil into the pan!

Joseph’s birthday at eFG

We celebrated 4 eFG children’s birthdays together on Friday 18 Nov 2011: Daniel and Joseph (3) and Hannah and Sonja (6).

Also, Quincy took a video:

Bikes for Esther and Joseph, David’s shield

As Esther can ride a bicycle properly, we bought a new mountain bike for her, lovely to see her going around in a good bike. We also got Joseph a real bicycle with training wheels. He took to it very naturally and had great fun.

David will get his only if he can drop the training wheels for good.

Here, you see David’s first version of the Captain america shield:

With a little help from Grace, the second version is much better.

Playground fun on Saturday

Look, instead of the “O”, the children are now at the “diamond”:

We had some time at the playground and a little walking around the neighbourhood.

Joseph can wink and more activities at the “O”

Look Joseph can wink:

Refering back to an earlier post on 28 Aug 2011, you can see that the children are very happy with the “O”, ie hole-in-the-wall at Block 38.

Dinner with parents, Joseph posing

YowCH’s parents are in town for Yan’s new baby girl. We had a dinner on Saturday evening at Linda’s (Hakka food) at Telok Ayer Street with Grace’s parents and sister, and YowCH’s brother-in-law Ping Quen and nephew Siu Hei. The restaurant is very homely and the food tasty.

Yan and Si Wan (less than a week old) is of course absent.

As we walked home, Joseph visited the favourite hole-in-the-wall at Block 38, and his pose was really cool, just like Leonardo Da Vinci’s Vitruvian Man:

Visit Alexandra Canal Park

Last Saturday, while waiting for Grace to finish work at 5:30pm, we went to Alexandra Canal Park for a short walk.

The canal park is part of the Pubic Utilities Board’s efforts to upgrade the waterways and catchment to a fun area, under the Active-Beautiful-Clean program.

The park runs through the Tanglin and River Valley area, plenty of high-end residential condos around.

While it was a hot afternoon, the children had fun walking, running and chasing birds.
