New starts for Joseph, Esther and YowCH

Joseph started secondary school at Gan Eng Seng School (same school as David).

Esther and YowCH started working.

Esther works as a temporary helper at Rainbow Centre, Margaret Drive, while waiting for the A-levels results. It is near home.

YowCH started working at Chye Joo Construction Pte Ltd, as Commercial Engineering Director.

His seat, a view from his seat and eating packed lunch at the roof garden.

Chye Joo, e-bass guitar, cycle, Lego Advent sets

On 23 Dec, YowCH visited Chye Joo office (his new employer starting from 4 Jan 2021).

His cubicle, large space in the middle of the office.

And his Asus Zenbook 14 UX434 laptop with touch screen and second screen at the mouse pad.

Esther wanted to play an electric bass guitar, and YowCH found a unit on Carousell. It was $320 with bag, and it is actually very new (the previous owner didn’t play much with it). The Ibanez Gio Bass:

Here are our 4 Ibanez guitars, basses (acoustic and electic) and guitars (acoutic and electric):

Grace took Joseph and Samuel out to cycle, they both did well.

Today is the last day and the Lego Advent sets (Star Wars and Harry Potter) are both completely opened.

Our Christmas eve dinner.

Junior Camp, caramel sweets, Youth Camp, peanut snack

Samuel had his Junior Church Camp (Z-Supa, organised by Scripture Union) which was held on-line this week.

YowCH continued this regular runs.

Our dinner, with young coconuts as dessert.

David tried out making caramel sweets, very nice! Grace helped.

Youth camp started on Friday, 11 Dec, with online meetings.

Samuel wasn’t in Youth Camp, he was just playing games on the iPad.
After the Youth Camp meeting, YowCH and Esther recorded the Christmas song for the choir, with Grace’s help.

YowCH runs, and also does his gym exercises.

Esther bought some strong sour and hot noodles online for the family. Very tasty, can buy more!

Samuel at tuition again, extra-time again.

Samuel at church.

We bought peanut snacks which is a type of traditional sweets, very nice.

Cycling, girls’ hair-do, Samuel piano, bak kut teh

On 01 Dec, YowCH brought Samuel and Joseph to the school carpark for more cycling practice. Joseph is back in good shape and Samuel is now able to cycle quite well, proper balance and going a long distance before stopping or falling.

Grace and Esther went to do their hair colouring. After the hair-do, they had lunch with Grace’s parents and Gene.

Here’s a photo of Esther teaching Samuel piano at home.

On Thursday, 03 Dec, we went to Ang Mo Kio to have lunch at this bak kut teh place, very nice.

YowCH site & runs, Samuel tuition & church, dinner at Sorrento, cycling

26 Nov, YowCH visited his Sentul Crescent site.

He has also been consistent in his runs of 4.0km every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.

On Saturday, Samuel did his Chinese tuition homework and prepared for his tuition class. He is always slow in Chinese, so he has to stay back after class to finish his class work.

In the afternoon, we sent Samuel to church to attend his Junior Sunday School. Covid restrictions had been reduced and 100 persons can attend church at any one time.

We visited Grace’s parents after church and had dinner bought from nearby coffeeshop.

On Sunday, YowCH brought the young boys cycling. Joseph now uses Esther’s mountain bike.

And Samuel had just learnt to cycle on his own!

With Christmas just around the corner, we took out our very old but functioning fibre-optic lights Christmas tree (probably bought around 2001). Samuel was very delighted!

Joseph’s PSLE results

On 25 Nov, Joseph returned to school to receive his PSLE results. YowCH went with him. He scored Bs for English, Maths and Science, and D for Chinese.

YowCH site, Joseph’s 12th birthday

4 Nov, Monday, YowCH visited his Tampines and Tanglin Halt sites.

That evening, we celebrated Joseph’s 121th birthday. First, his present of Swiss Army Knife (Huntsman) from Grace and YowCH.

We ordered noodles and ate with Grace’s parents and Gene.

Then it was a nice cake from Gene, custom made with anime prop.
