Joseph fracture update, YowCH at site, dinners

Update on Joseph’s fracture on 27 April, the X-ray shows the slight compression (buckling) fracture near the wrist. Changed to Air-cast which is more convenient.

YowCH visited Chye Joo’s Lower Seletar site on 28 April.

We had family dinner at The Gogi on 29 April. Due to safe distancing, we are all seated on one side of the table to be far from the next tables. the boss of the shop also changed, but the food and style remains the same.

On 30 April, Esther and David had their own dinner plans. The rest went to Start Vista and had mala dinner (not nice and expensive).

Joseph’s arm fracture, David’s run, Samuel HBL, chess set.

19 April 2021, Joseph had a fracture in school, playing-horse with his friend. It is a buckling fracture of the right radius just above the wrist.

We ordered dinner and topped up with some chicken nuggets.

On 20 April, David ran 2.4km in school in 11m15s, rather slow and needs to train harder.

For dinner we had tapao Western food.

YowCH bought some dates earlier, always available at Ramadhan period.

Grace made a nice sling for Joseph’s arm.

One day of home-based learning for Samuel on 22 April 2021.

On 23 April, we received the chess set ordered from China, nice in gold and silver.

YowCH’s A7 tablet, Joseph canoe, dinners

YowCH needed a larger screen to read news, scroll Facebook and other sites, given his deteriorating long-sightedness, and so he bought a local (Singapore) Samsung Galaxy Tab A7 (wifi-only). At just slightly above $320, it came with accessories, cover and tempered glass screen protector. the tablet is 10.4″ with 64GB memory. Arrived on 15 April 2021.

On 16 April, we went out to Alexandra Retail Centre to eat Bak Kut Teh for dinner.

On Sunday, 18 April, YowCH brought Joseph to MacRitchie Reservoir for his canoe competition. Unfortunately, he did not make the timing to the next round, due to tipping over into the water once. The race distance was 2.0km.

While Grace was at work, YowCH and the children had peranakan dinner at Great World City, The Blue Ginger. Samuel enjoyed buah keluak.

Staycation at Pan Pacific

We had a one-night staycation at Pan Pacific from 18 to 19 March 2021, part of Grace’s benefits as a healthcare worker during the Covid crisis. click on the photos below to enter the page.

January 2021 runs, fried nian-gao, dinner with Yongs

YowCH was consistent in his runs, rain or shine, day or night.

In fact, sometimes, Esther and David also ran.

For the month of January, YowCH managed 6.0km runs on Tuesday nights and Saturday mornings, and also gym and stretching on Saturdays.

This is the run summary of the 30 Jan run, 6.0km in 34min00sec, his second fastest 6.0km run (the fastest was 5 secs faster at 33m55s). Heart rate ave 162 and max 176 (which is quite consistent with all the other runs). Average pace of about 5m40s or ave speed of 10.6km/h.

This calendar shows his runs for the month of January.

We also have our regular weekly swim (about 45 mins), typically about 500m each person. On 31 Jan, Grace had just finished night shift and missed swim. Here are screenshots of videos of Joseph, YowCH, Esther and David doing butterfly, and Samuel (middle) swimming freestyle.

We fried some nian-gao in the afternoon after swim, wrapped in spring roll skin. Tastes great!

We shared the dessert with friends, neighbours and the Yongs.

In the evening, we visited the Yongs and had dinner at Bishan.
