Grace needed a watch with a second hand, and after a bit of searching, the new Step Tracker Baby-G BGS-100RT-1A fits the needs and looks pretty, too. The new watch is on the right in the photo below:
Compared with the older G-shock AW591-4A, this watch is more feminine and lighter.
The strap has a nice pink line and a pink strap holder.
The best part is probably the white light which also lights up the LCD part.
Not too costly, at $151.
After YowCH’s QECP night class and Grace’s afternoon duties on Wednesday, they met at Aqua Luna, Park Hotel’s pool-side bar at level 7, for a drink. the children were at home. Grace had a Kronenbourg beer while YowCH had a Havana rum, together with truffle-fries and fried chicken wings.
This is Grace at 44.
Yesterday, we had pre-brithday fruits, 猫山王 (Musang King) durians.
Today, we had dinner at Spruce, located at the Firestation at Upper Bukit Timah.
The food was reasonably good, but a bit pricey. The ambiance is great, with live music and good environment.
We shared a beer, an alcoholic ginger beer.
Grace bought herself a box of Lego Brick Headz and also Salazar for her birthday!
Today, YowCH took leave and brought Joseph and Samuel to the Treetop Walk at Macritchie. Click the photo below for more photos in the dedicated page:
After the hike, we drove home to pick Grace and had Rollie Ollie lunch in Star Vista. After lunch, we got a Liho pearly milk tea drink and then went to Teo Heng Karaoke for some singing fun:
After karaoke, we shopped a bit more, and as we spent more than $80 in Star Vista and claimed an inflatable sofa (for our next picnic!).
We watched with great interest the developments of the Malaysian General Elections 14 (2018). By 2:45am on 10 May 2018, it was announced on RTM1 that BN has lost the majority.
Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad, the fourth Prime Minister from 1981 to 2003, returned to the PM post as the seventh PM under Pakatan Harapan (the opposition to BN) at 9:30pm on 10 May 2018, as he was sworn into office.
This is the first change of ruling party in all 61 years of Malaysia. Many records were made in Malaysia, including the youngest elected MP at 22, oldest elected PM at 92, ending of longest reign of the ruling party, most states not won by the incumbent ruling party. All-in-all, we thank God for a smooth and organised election and transfer of power.
We also re-contracted David’s line, and he now has a new iPhone 8 with 64GB, and a jelly case with his basketball hero.
Grace re-contracted and is now using the Samsung S9 (Coral Blue). Nice phone, YowCH will likely get this soon.
We went for our regular swim, and Samuel swam 8 laps continuously. That’s 400m.
We also asked our coach to help us take a family portrait underwater.
This is YowCH after 10 laps of freestyle. At 44 today, he looked very tired. So he had a heavy lunch.
Actually, the plate of goodies was shared with the family. This nice roast meat stall is Kay Lee at Henderson Road.
For dinner, we met the Yongs and ate Korean food at Toa Payoh Central.
And to end the birthday night, Grace made a grapefruit soju for YowCH:
We had our first cell-group meeting at the Tan’s new place at Upper Thomson on Friday 19 Jan.
For Grace’s 20th anniversary with KKH, she received a certificate, a notepad, $400 of vouchers and $100 in a cash-card.
YowCH has been running regularly, from 2.5km to 5.0km. Even on 14 Jan when it was drizzling and the air temperature as the lowest in Singapore (since 2016) at 22°C.
YowCH also managed to swim 500m (10 laps) non stop in free style for the first time. Grace is now regularly doing 20 laps of breast stroke with some breaks in between laps.
Grace was on leave from 14 to 18 Aug, and she managed to reorganize the boys’ room for new shelves. She took Joseph and Samuel to IKEA on 17 and 18 Aug, and bought shelves which the whole family helped in setting up, completing on Saturday, 19 August.
Joseph was the tallest allowable height to enter the IKEA play area, and Samuel at the minimum height.
Firstly, Billy book shelves:
And we made a loft play area under Samuel’s bed:
On Friday night, we had cell-group (BCG) meeting:
And on Saturday, Joseph had a dip with YowCH at Sorrento:
Followed with closing session of term 2 of KFC:
The children rehearsed for Teachers’ Day celebration next week.
