YowCH sites & brisk walk, dinners, Grace egg tarts, knife handle

24 May, YowCH visited his KTP and SJ sites, N111 and Simpang Kiri.

Grace made egg tarts using the air fryer.


We had clam pasta and braised pork-ribs with bitter gourd.

On Tuesday, 25 May, YowCH restarted distance exercise with brick walking, exactly 3 months after the fracture on the shin.

Managed to cover 2.5km in 24m30s. Not fast, but it is a start.

26 May, Vesak Day holiday, YowCH repaired the small green knife which handle had shattered. Carved a wooden handle as replacement.

Dinner included air fried chicken wings.

After dinner, YowCH used the air fryer to make nian gao wrapped with spring roll skin.

Dinner on 27 May, with durians!

With duan wu jie upcoming, we had Zhong for dinner on 28 May, made by Grace’s mom.

Joseph’s arm fracture, David’s run, Samuel HBL, chess set.

19 April 2021, Joseph had a fracture in school, playing-horse with his friend. It is a buckling fracture of the right radius just above the wrist.

We ordered dinner and topped up with some chicken nuggets.

On 20 April, David ran 2.4km in school in 11m15s, rather slow and needs to train harder.

For dinner we had tapao Western food.

YowCH bought some dates earlier, always available at Ramadhan period.

Grace made a nice sling for Joseph’s arm.

One day of home-based learning for Samuel on 22 April 2021.

On 23 April, we received the chess set ordered from China, nice in gold and silver.

YowCH’s meds, Sentul Crescent beam launching, supper, Esther’s driving

YowCH’s morning medicines – 2 for high blood pressure, 1 for blood lipids, 1 glucosamine, 2 for calcium and 5 vitamin C.

On 29 Mar, YowCH stayed over at Sentul Crescent site to observe the overnight beam launching. works started at 1:00am (after the last LRT train) and completed launching 3 T-girders at 4:30am.

On 31 March, YowCH took Grace to a nice supper at Kyoten, Tiong Bahru. We ordered omakase (for 1) and fried rice (for 1) and 1 bottle of cold sake.




The food was very nice, and we were the last customers.

Esther started driving on the road with her driving instructor, Paul Ong. Here are her training routes on 28 and 31 Mar.

Staycation at Pan Pacific

Dinner, supper, Duckland

We went to Alibabar for dinner on 25 Feb. Nice food, as usual.

On 26 Feb, after Grace’s afternoon shift, YowCH brought her to eat fermented tofu at Mini Star (HK) along Geylang Road.

The business started in 1997 and the place looks very classic.

On Saturday, while the older children had gone to church, YowCH, Grace and Samuel had duck at Duckland (Tung Lok) at United Square.

The food is good!

Grace Covid Vaccine, YowCH dinners, Pre-CNY makan, fried niangao, supper, Sam piano

On 4 Feb, YowCH had dinner with some friends from work at Hillview area. Nice Italian restaurant “iO Italian Osteria”.


On 4 Feb, Grace received her 2nd dose of Covid vaccine. Her first does was taken on 14 Jan 2021.

Monday night, YowCH and Grace had supper at a Japanaese bistro Izakaya Hikari after Grace ended work at 9:00pm.

The on Tuesday night, YowCH attended ACES’s appreciation dinner at Ah Yat (probably the last since he is no longer consulting engineer). Max 8 to a room, and ACES booked 4 rooms.

Weekend update, dinner with Yongs, Esther’s work, David’s JC posting, Y&G dinner

We had our weekly swim on 24 Jan. Here are screenshots of Esther and David swimming videos taken by coach.

After swim, we had chicken rice for lunch.

Then YowCH re-dyed his hair again using Dixmondsg hair dye he bought online to maintain the blue. Also bought matte brown for Grace.

We had satay and yakitori dinner with the Yongs, while we watched the announcement of results for Siu Hei’s Maths Olympiad. He got Gold!

Esther made cookies, cake and sandwiches at Rainbow Centre for the children. She also did balloon crafts.

On 28 Jan, David received news that his first choice of ACJC was not successful although he is exactly at the cut-off points. Instead, he has been posted to CJC. He has made an appeal. In the meantime, he attended CJC on 29 Jan (Friday!) in his secondary school uniform.

YowCH picked Grace from her afternoon duties and had dinner together at Josh’s Grill, Bugis Junction.

Grace’s dental, YowCH sites, TraceTogether

Grace went to the dentist and removed 2 wisdom teeth on 18 Jan. MC of 5 days (whole week).


She will return to the dentists in about 1 week’s time to remove the stitches.

YowCH visited HDB Lower Seletar site (HDB Group Director’s visit) and then Simpang Kiri bridge site.

We collected our TraceTogether tokens on 20 Jan. This is part of Singapore’s plan towards controlling the spread of Coivd-19. With Bluetooth technology, the tokens will help with contact tracing.

Our dinner on 21 Jan, YowCH got home from work and fried pork-leg beehoon.

On Saturday, we went to NTUC and got a huge load of food!

Grace Covid Vaccine, Beacon Care-group men’s dinner, dinner with swim coaches

Grace received her first does of Covid Vaccine on 14 Jan 2021.

YowCH had dinner with the BCG men on 14 Jan after work, and had Western food at West Coast near Patrick’s place.

On 15 Jan, we had Korean BBQ with our swim coaches, Francis and Tobby.

We met Francis’ wife and children.


After dinner, the children had a good time playing together.

Nian-gao, breakfast and YowCH on site

David wrapped nian-gao with dumpling skin and fried them. The skin wasn’t right-tasting, but the result is not too bad.

YowCH had a trip to Tampines site (KTP job) and had breakfast with Grace at Tekka Market.
