Worship videos, Sam games and tuition, YowCH heart rate monitor

VR Star Wars, Sam online tuition, YowCH’s runs and heart-rate monitor

Here are the children playing with the 2 sets of Augmented Reality Star Wars games. We got the second set when YowCH helped Grace’s dad buy another laptop same deal as David’s laptop.

We got some fake BeyBlade from China for Samuel.

Here’s Samuel, having online Chinese tuition.

YowCH has been very regular in his runs.

He got himself a heart rate monitor (mail-order from China) and starting from 07 July, monitors his heart rate as he runs.

The heart rate is very high! Reached 103% of the calculated max heart rate (based on 220 – age)!

Given less traffic in the Covid period, we can get 10km/L and the car can be driven 510km or even further in in tank.

YowCH is very disciplined in his runs, even when it rains (as long as not too heavy with strong winds or lightning).

Dinner with parents, masks from Temasek, sports

Our Church sent a pack of goodies and activities to Samuel for Father’s Day.

Grace’s parents came over for dinner on 28 June (with government allowing not more than 5 visitors, better they come than we go). YowCH cooked wonton mee.

After dinner, mom used the Xiaomi hair clipper to cut dad’s hair.

Sunday, 28 June, Samuel watching the worship lead by YowCH (with Esther and Joseph) recorded on 9 June.

On Monday, we collected the masks issued by Temasek. These masks are better than the earlier ones from the government.

Some sports we did in June, David got to play basketball with his friends (limited to 5 persons, though).

YowCH continued his exercises and bought a yoga ball (from Lazada, delivered in 3 days) to do the exercises prescribed by his physio-therapist from the chiropractor.

YowCH was also very regular in his runs. From the calendar, he has been making 3x 2.5km runs weekly, with a 4.0km or 5.0km run on Sundays.

In 6 months, he covered almost the distance of all his runs on 2019.

Airdots, tray on stove, Esther worship, Samuel’s craft

YowCH bought Xiaomi Air-dots, much cheaper than Apple Airpods, for $28. Works well. Given to Joseph.

20 June, we saw the Church Youth Service worship with Esther playing guitar.

YowCH made a flat tray to put on the stove, this is very useful to temporarily place the cooking utensils like the spade, chopsticks or tongs.

On Monday 22 June, the whole family went out for school and work.

Samuel had some free time at home, he did some craft which YowCH bought from EZbuy or Lazada.

Ikea table and chair

YowCH and Grace made a trip to Ikea on 19 June after they reopened for business to buy a table and a chair.

Joseph assembled the chair very well.

Unfortunately, he slipped and dropped the tampered glass table top and it smashed to pieces.

YowCH took some shelving planks from our stash and made a wooden table top.

Works well.

Updates, with siew yuk

Second week of June, Samuel’s return to school.

YowCH took part in a Covid-19 research (giving blood sample), and for his efforts, received $70 NTUC vouchers.

He also went to the chiropractic to check on his back pains, and while waiting for his appointment, he had a haircut.

In the afternoon, David worked on another piece of siew yuk.

Sadly, the skin is still not crispy. We need to refine our method further.

Covid-19 “Circuit Breaker” situation first week of June

YowCH likes to do aluminium sheet craft. Here he made a tray that fits into the oven for baking cookies.

On 2 June, the children went back to school, except Samuel who was on Home-based Learning on the first week of June.

After a long 6 weeks, Bey Blade and other toys for Samuel finally arrived from China on 3 June. Timing wasn’t very good because he had started school from 2 June.

YowCH went back to KTP office to collect some papers, drop in some paper work and noted that the office was still rather empty (most still working from home). The management also install perspex screens on the directors’ tables and meeting rooms.

YowCH also collected the SJ Covid-care pack, with sanitiser and 2 nice masks.

Here’s a photo of Samuel eating watermelon, he loves watermelons.

Cast iron pan and wok

We ordered a cast iron pan from China, as David says it is a good pan for steak and other meats.

It came prepared and ready for use, but we still washed and oiled to make sure that the pan was well oiled.

YowCH tied a rope around the handle to improve the grip, and folded and aluminium shield against the heat.

Nice to use!

YowCH later on ordered a cast iron wok from China, 15″ (largest that can fit into our sink for washing).

It came raw and unprepared, so David prepared the wok with the oiling and heating.

YowCH added the rope work to improve the handles.

Very good for cooking!

Sports in May

We continued our sports to stay healthy, even with the lockdown situation.

Joseph went for some runs, 1.6km.

YowCH was regular in his 2.5km (3x per week) and 5.0km (Sundays).

Samuel went in-line skating (2.0km) while Grace went for brisk walks of 2.0km).

YowCH was also regularly doing weights and planking.

Instead of running, sometimes Joseph also skated.

Esther also joined in the skating.

As shown in the software records on the phone for his runs, YowCH has very regular in his runs, not skipping even in the rain.

Only David got lazy in May.
