Church Teachers’ Day, Soccer, Dinner with Yongs

On Saturday, 26 August, Samuel and Joseph performed 2 songs in church for the Sunday School teachers for Teachers’ Day.

The children performed “You Never Let Go” and “The Lord’s Prayer”.

Sunday, 27 Aug, West Coast Wolves played friendly games against Choa Chu Kang CSC. YowCH was referee for the under-8 games. Joseph played in under-12 and then the adults played against WCW under-15.

We invited the Yongs over for dinner to celebrate Si Wan’s birthday and we had Western food.

After dinner, the cousins had fun playing with each other.

Movie outing for Esther, David and Joseph

Today is the day after Singapore National Day, and schools are on holiday. This afternoon, Esther, David and Joseph went to Tiong Bahru Plaza to watch a movie by themselves, The Emoji Movie.

Food, swim and Samuel’s Engineer toy

We continued our on-line ordering with Indian food from Brinda’s:

Grace worked night, so she skipped swimming, but here are the rest of us:

Samuel enjoyed the Engineering toy set, so we took out the larger box, and he was absolutely delighted with the increase in building materials!

Here’s a little miscellaneous post: our neighbour, bought a grey Honda Odyssey recently, and his plate is very similar to ours!

Food Panda, Soju, Little People Zoo, David on guitar

We are now ordering dinners through Food Panda. Options are plenty and we can save time on travelling, parking, walking and waiting at the restaurant.
24 June: Sichuan food:

1 July: Korean food:

Thanks to Paul Ng in helping us bring home some cheap Soju from Seoul, we had this nice grapefruit-flavoured Soju at home.

We took out Esther’s old set of Little People Zoo (which was also enjoyed previously by David and Joseph) for Samuel. He really liked the Zoo set.

And a strange thing happened – David says he wants to learn guitar, so YowCH and Esther started coaching him. Starting with basic chords like C, G, D, E, Am, and F. Hopefully he can persevere and learn enough to play.

Boys’ room completed, dinner with Yongs at Sichuan Dou Hua

We have slowly moved the books, clothes and toys for the boys’ room, and managed to shift everything nicely into place on Sunday afternoon.

Now, David, Joseph and Samuel share one room.

We had dinner with the Yongs at Sichuan Dou Hua, a Sichuan restaurant, at Parkroyal, Beach Road. The food was good.

David is now 13, glass coating for the Odyssey, Korea trip

David turned 13 on 24 March. We got him a Molten GG7x Composite Leather outdoors basketball and had Korean food dinner with the family at The Gogi (Alexandra Central) on Saturday evening.

The Odyssey had been covered by a tough layer of dust sometime early March that wasn’t easy to wash off, so YowCH sent it back to Honda for the Threebond Glass coating on 28 March, which includes washing and polishing. With a 20% discount, the deal was good as we a about $540 to get rid of the sticky dust, got the car polished, cleaned the interiors and protected the paintwork with the glossy glass coating.

We had a 9-day holiday in Korea from 11 to 19 March, but we have not finished processing the photos. Here is a teaser photo and our trip map.

First day of school 2017

Our four children are now in 4 different schools, and here they are in their uniforms:

David’s G-Shock AW591-2A

We bought David an advanced Christmas present, the G-Shock AW591-2A, a black-and-blue G-shock, which is Baby-G sized but not a Baby-G. Good for his sporty lifestyle. It is the same series as Grace’s black-and-red G-Shock.

David’s PSLE, Joseph turns 8

David received his PSLE results today, not too bad at ABBC, passing Chinese. We went to school with him to collect his resuts. He has been admitted to Gan Eng Seng Secondary School via Direct School Admission for his basketball captaincy.

By next year, we will have 4 children in 4 different schools.

Today is also Joseph’s 8th birthday. We went out to have lunch at Vivocity with Grace’s parents and Gene (but Esther was away in school). After lunch, they watched Moana, while YowCH went back to work.

He met Spyro along the way, and received Galvatron and Blurr from YowCH and Grace as his birthday presents.

David received Eagles Award

David received the EAGLES Award from Gan Eng Seng Primary School for outstanding performance as the Captain of the Basketball Team.
