Afternoon: Fly into Mulu from Miri in Twin Otter 19-seater plane. Checked in to Royal Mulu Resort. Visited Lang and Deer Caves (Gua Lang, Gua Rusa). Observed the daily bats exodus at Deer Cave. Stayed at Royal Mulu Resort. |
Morning: Visited Wind Cave. Left for Kuala Berar by long boat along the Melinau River. Lunch on river bank. Afternoon: Started trail up to Camp 5. Two river fordings, one by rope and the other freehand. Stayed at Camp 5. |
Morning: Attempted Pinnacles. Failed, due lack of fitness, heavy rains and broken boots. Afternoon: Went on the Kerangas trail as an alternative activity. Stayed at Camp 5. |
Morning: Hiked back to Mulu Resort from Camp 5. Two river fordings, one by rope and the other freehand. Water level much higher due to heavy rains. Visited Clearwater Cave (Gua Ayer Jerneh). Afternoon: Cleaned up at Royal Mulu Resort. Fly off from Mulu into Miri in Twin Otter 19-seater plane. |
